Toyota Hilux on Axial Scx10 w/ leaf springs

ok, so after looking and debating, I feel the best way to proceed is to remove the material from hood instead of extending fenders.

This way, the front of the truck will be even(ish) with frame rails.

quick update as I want to play video games today and drink beer.

I searched my parts bin and cobbled together a rear shock suspension closer to scale 1:1. I removed all internal springs so only my leaf are acting as suspension.

ok, I'm out. Stay safe and healthy out there.

ok, so did not like front end with bumper sticking so far out. I removed winch, cut bumper and remounted. looks way better and approach angle is greatly improved while still providing protection.

I also cut out a portion of bumper so my steering servo can fit. I will fab another piece to connect to bumper so servo can mount using all four screw holes.

So, before I proceed any further, I needed to figure out general electronics location due to the cab design.

I am going to mount battery in back as this is a trail truck. I still need to construct the rear bed, but it will be hidden.

I had to make a receiver tray from scrap aluminum for esc box. My ESC is right behind cab, my receiver is in the Axial box at very rear.

I'll fix/encase steering servo wire later, just wanted to get it done. Oh, since my trans is flipped, need to switch motor wires.
