Top Truck Challenge series

Oh damn those a great pics Rodney!!! "thumbsup"

I really enjoyed spending the day with you guys. Heather and the kids enjoyed it too. They liked the smaller crowd and felt like they were part of the group so thanks for making them feel welcome.

Turtle and the Wraith suprised us all with it's capability.
Van's 1.9 suprised us with it's ability (again).
Rodney suprised us with his consistency (consistently awesome).
Casey suprised us with his changeability (swapping electronics every course).
The Devil suprised us with his tenacity (to break an unbelievable amount of parts at the same instant)
Dave suprised us with his ability (to show up). Glad you made it. 8)

I had my moments of frustration, how could you not get pissed when you lose a front driveshaft, lose the rear steer servo horn, break a wheel, and have the pinion gear come loose, all within 3 ft. :ror: But at the end of the day I had a great time and sure did love letting Guido's new VXL eat a little. What a freaking hoot!!! I love you guys and your toy trucks. :ror:

We missed you, powdertwoplanker, Juan, and araknid. Hope you all can make it to the next one. We need more 1.9ers so that Van doesn't get mad at us for building courses he can't finish. :ror: Even though he was the only one to finish the reverse Tank Trap course. ;-)

I put a VXL motor and a Sidewinder ESC in Guido to see how it would work. I had been watching justinart24's Chevy build and it seemed like a resonable solution compared to dunking a $280 sensored system in the water. Which I can not afford right now even if I wanted to do that.

The speed on 3S was great! Guido could run down the Wraith (on 3S) in a drag race and had about as much power in the truck pull as Pat's 10T puller on 4S.

By using the Sidewinder I have drag brake. Although I need to play with the amount. 213% is too much and 50% is not quite enough for the weight of Guido.

Since I am using the Sidewinder it is running sensorless so crawling speed throttle control is not great but it is liveable for what we do in these events. For crawling only this would not be a great setup but since crawling is only a small part of what we do it works fine. Plus I can just jump most rocks. :ror:

Overall I am very happy. Rodney is talking about doing the same setup since he is tired of eating a full set of brushes every event also. "thumbsup"

Wish I could have made this one but ended up not being able to since it was fathers day the wife had other plans for me lol. But looks like you guys had a blast, and I will be at the next one and hopefully I can make this sundays event. "thumbsup"

I vote for more crawling sections until I can afford one of these motors.

Sorry to have missed this one...sounds like you guys had a blast. I didn't really trust bringing my 4Runner all that way with the clutch issues I'm having with it. The new master cylinder came in today though so I just have to pick it up and pop it in "thumbsup"

next time you can carpool with van and i.

Damn looks like I missed a good TTC event. I am currently on my way back from the east coast with my kids. They are a bit more important than toy trucks lol. See you guys at the next one.

We have a plan for a location yet?

Yes sir the the Location will be Mount Evans, the same location Todd used for the Scale series in the past. I will get the specifics of the location up soon.

If anyone else has the location info. also please feel free to post it up.

Thanks

I don't know how many of you went to the scale event at this location last year but it's a killer spot. Please let us know if you plan to attend this comp.
