To vent the wheel or the tire, that is the question

From Crawler Innovations homepage:
'#2. The closed cell foam is water proof, and air tight. The TIRE must be vented to allow the foam and the tire to properly conform to the rock surface. No air movement = No tire conformity'

I don't vent my tires. I am using PB Rockbeast with CI foam. All up weight around 7.5lb. I love crawling in water and mud so having a hole on my tires won't be good. Besides I am having pretty good traction even with the tire is sealed.

No problem with vented tires in water and mud. The hole lets it out as well.

Thread revival....

Does weight play a roll in weather or not to vent a tire? My rig is on the heavy side (8-9 lbs).

No
Venting allows the foams to work as intended.

Foams size and stiffness will be tuned for weight.
