tires and vehicle weight

ok everybody here is a loaded question that will probably get lots of feed back and drastic differences.
I am getting ready to add weight to my tires and not sure how much. I have read many articles about weights and get many different answers. I geuss my question is ,is there an ideal weight that you want your crawler to weigh:idea: Is there an ideal weight you want your tires to weigh:?:If it matters i'm using my stock axial rims.So far I havent seen or heard about any weight limits in the rules and regulation for crawlers so please help if you can."thumbsup"
 
its basically gonna be a personal preference....some rigs ive ran 7 oz up front and 4 in back, right now on my berg i am running 10 oz up front and 5 in back. when i had my blackjack i had 15 oz in front lol...theres not a set in stone answer on this, id say 7 oz is a good varient for the front and 3 or 4 in the back......
 
You should put this under a comp rig section, might get more replys but I have noticed quit a differance in what people run. I used to run 3 oz. front and 1 oz. in the back each with axial rims and went to Mayhem Double Phattys and run 4 up front and two in the back. I have noticed the weight up front really helps but am having trouble with the back and noticeing how much is too much. Ill take some total weight measurements later before and after new wheels and give you a little more info.
 
I put on a set of Panthers with Axial stock foams with 2 1/8th holes in the rims. As for weights I went to Sportmans Warehouse and bought lead steelhead weights that are cut to fit. I put 2 wraps around the front rims and one wrap around the rear rims seams to work well for me.
 
From what I have read and found most like the wheels to come in as close to 1lb. for the fronts and 14 oz.s for the rears. That is what I have been told from a few other sites.

Wheel, Tire, Foam and weight.
 
hey thanks guys for the info . im sure as most have said just start some where and play around with it."thumbsup"buy the way thanks again to who ever it was that let me borrow their tire for the comp on the 21st.:ror:
 
keep in mind, the heavier your wheels, the more stress it puts on everything else and will be more easy to break parts esp if you plan to cartwheel down a cliff!
