The Crawl Space "Rock Bull" Unimog. (pic heavy)

Ikaika what winch is that??

I use the RC4WD bulldog winch. I pulled it from the salvage pile just to get one on the rig before the G6.

The newest winches from RC4WD are 10 times better now than the older ones.

Heres a tech sub-thread on the new RC4WD winches. They are using a brass bushing and can seize or studder during operation, so its best to do a little preventive maintainance before install.

The case feels a bit thicker and its held together with hex hardware, still be careful not to strip out the screws or holes during disassembly/assembly

I used some 220 grit sand paper to smooth out and reduce the size of the spool stub just a little so it would spin freely in the bushing.

Put a dab of heavy grease on the stub, bolt it back together and she's good to go "thumbsup"

Here's my quick addition to the chassis, D-mounts for the rear
Grab some 1/8" alum. flat stock. cut down to 10mm and however long you liken and a couple shackles.

Make a template for mounting screws, filed and buffed down to finish.

Install and now you have shackles to hook up all them other trucks that need a hand

Just stumbled on this thread. Definitely tied for my favorite rig from last weekend"thumbsup"

I loved seeing you take the mog through that tight squeeze on the night stage (the one where I lost my snorkel). The mog is most certainly g6 approved.

Thanks ikaika, we have a few a those winches. With extra parts and motors cause they never last too long, its now in the parts bin.

Thanks tatum

if you could find the right size you could probably put a sealed bearing in there instead of a bushing

Rajah dat, I'm on the hunt for some today.
I wanted to show the "work with what ya got" method as well for those that build on a budget. I'll update with what I find and the source and part number "thumbsup"

Thanks ikaika, we have a few a those winches. With extra parts and motors cause they never last too long, its now in the parts bin.

Anytime T, the winches can be hit n miss sometime, I think this most recent run is good to go, i did a dead lift test of the mog and it pulled right up

I still have the first bulldog winch I ever got installed on the 15lbs. poi pounda  and its still running strong, same original motor and transmission.

Took a weekend trip to check out a new comp spot and shot a couple pics of the Rock Bull on some awesome terrain, enjoy :)

Did manage to break the panhard mount at the axle, so I'll be fabbing up a beefier one this week and get ready for the rigs first real comp in a couple weeks :)

Hey gang heres a quick update.
I've been lucky to get some more drive time with this rig and after some shock tuning its getting better and better.
Currently the truck sits at 8.5 lbs. with Traxxas big bores, 30wt in the front and 35wt. in the rear with Losi black springs all around.

Now time for the real test, a scale comp.
We haven't been running many scale comps lately so when the opportunity to run a weekend long event with Pro, Sporty and Scale comps at the world famous Red Rocks we jumped all over it

There were 4 courses designed and layed out by 666 and Turtle and they were great! A good start for the new drivers getting into comps and still some challenges gates through every course for the more experienced drivers. I ran class III because of the cut n chut pitbulls and dig in the truck, being a pro comp driver most of the time I'm used to hittin' switches during a run, but I only used the dig once on course 4

Thanks to iluvdrt for snappin pics "thumbsup"
This one looks like the trucks got a mini wheelbase, lol.

This was a sharp breakover with a slight under cut, this is were the short 11.75" wheelbase helps to get on top of obstacles instead getting caught on the skid.

This is were the short wheelbase got me  a slight off camber uphill ledge with ruts and a diff hanger cut with an O.B. and not enough room for the wide track width of the rig.

This was the only time I pulled line to winch,at least it made for a cool pic

That thing is a work of art man! Congrats! Are you running the slash rear big bores all around?

Thanks man. I'm running the 4" big bores for E-maxx on all 4 corners.

The cut and shut pits look great on there. Reminds me a bit of the old 2.2 pits. It gives it quite a monster mog look. Awesome!

Looks killer - love the tires.

I love'em, big and wide and hook-up like crazy

I do have a set of OG 2.2 pitbulls for TTCs "thumbsup"

Tires are loaded with Crawler Innovations closed cell DD foam with sidewall tuning rings to fill them out "thumbsup"

Hey Ikaika!
I just stumbled on your rig - looks awesome dude! I'm now in the process to acquire another 'Mog again ...
