Well this is my first post, just finished up my scx 10. Everything went smooth untill...

My brand new fxr went up in smoke??? WTF

I sure hope tekin fixes this for me, or my new interest in RC might come to an end.

Just smoked mine today too. Was turned on for about 2 minutes with a ccbec and 3s lipo and was just sitting idle then suddenly it went up smoking and the whole thing almost melted.. I had this for a month and it went smooth until now..? Will they work to have it changed?

I just put a new one in my Wk dna po build and the cap blew in about 20 seconds. Put a new 470uf / 35v and it gets hot super fast and will only go in reverse. Waiting for a reply from tekin!! (PM"ed TY)

I waited a few days for a response for an RMA too. I finally called and they gave me one. It seemed like the girl who answered the phone just made one up anyway.

She very well may have.

Here at my company, we tell folks that they don't need an RGA #, but some folks are of the mindset that if you don't get some kind of an RGA/RMA#, whatever acronym you want to use, you're not going to get any results. So they insist that they just have to have an RGA#. At that point I'll put them on hold, make them wait a few minutes, then get back on and give them some random number I make up off the top of my head. I'll also throw in a few letters just for good measure, and I tell them the letters are case-sensitive just to make it a little more complicated for them. Once they have their "RGA#", they seem to be happy, even though said number is actually utterly meaningless.

Don't get me wrong, I stand behind my product 110%. I just don't need to give out a number to make it happen, despite what a lot of folks seem to think...

Me too!!

Mine worked fine through about 8 charges on my batteries, although there was always sort of some weird glitching with reverse. I'm just running NiMH saddle battery with the Castle BEC, cap soldered up just like it was supposed to be. And mine started to smoke, I quickly disconnected the batt and let it cool, 20 min later tried again moved fine in fwd with no issues then tried rev and instantly started to smoke again, quickly pulled the plug.

When I called the fella gave me an RA# and I filled out the warranty form and they staight up sent me a new one, even though I was 2 weeks past the warranty date. I had also explained that I'd bought the thing and had it sitting for about a month before I'd actually done my build. But they seem to be real good about standing behind their products. In light of what I've been reading here I'd have to say that there was probably a bad batch because mine was purchased back around June as well.

Good folks though I'll continue to buy their stuff if they'll stand behind it, I'm just glad I got to it before it completely burnt up!

Well i got a e-mail saying mine is being shipped back to me, fixed under warranty!!!!
A little over 2 weeks but worth the wait!!!
Thanks TY for the great customer service!!
