no its not the 3300 mah its the voltage of the battery. I ran a 4000 mah 7.2 volt battery on a stock axial esc with no bec and had no probs this weekend.
 
Well lets see here what controller/reciever are you using? Those esc's don't have a strong internal bec so now I would say it's a definete yes you need a good bec like a cc bec or novak bec because the more volts the more draw in power on all your electronics so I think the esc isn't liking the high volts. Also did you mention what servo you have?

stock axial ax10 shit bro.. im going till it pops or i come across something this summer at a yard sale or something for one hell of a deal.. im on a super budget thanks to bills so..they need to make a hobby shop that takes payments lmao id so be there:flipoff:
