I purchased a couple of these motors in 2500kv. I am glad i did. These motors are monsters.
The first one i threw in my kyosho FO-XX VE with a stock sized pinion for the orion motor that comes in them. The first thing i noticed was this motor has alot more snap to it. The second thing i noticed is it was running alot cooler temp wise than the orion motor. So i stepped it up a few pinion sizes and WOW. If your running a monster truck or a basher this is DEFINITELY the motor you want.
The second motor i put in a losi night crawler scaler. Since the motor has a 5mm shaft i put a driveshaft straight off the motor to a 3:1 rediction t case then straight to the axles. With a finial reduction of 75:1 to the wheels. This motor is working flawlessly for this application also. The low end and torque on this motor allows it to power threw a bind.
Losi axles are know threwout the rc community as destroyers of motors and being hard to work with. The motor temps again are surprisingly cool.
I am running both of these motors off 4s threw a castle mmp. The scaler is using 4s 65c high voltage lipos from racing drones.
(I am not sure what the max these are rated for) but again i havent had any issues.
