I have read a little on this situation and i was wandering what if any are direct drop in replacement/upgrade for the diff.I also seen something about tc3 spools anyone know if this works? If so got a part number? And are the pinion gears seperate from the input shaft on the pti and tc3?

You can actually buy the spool here:

http://www.ptiracing.net/buy/buynow.htm

There was an aluminum TC3 spool that was a direct fit made by a company called IRS. But I can't find it on Tower anymore. Associated makes a STEEL spool, but I found out that it is not a direct fit. You have to auger the hell outta the slots because they aren't deep enough for the dogbones.

Here's the gears:

Both of those are a direct fit in the Goliath. You can also get the gears individually from PTI in the link above.

Associated sells two steel spools. One for the TC3 (electric) and one for the NTC3 (nitro). The one for the nitro is a little bit wider and needs to have the slots milled for the dogbones to fit (what K_B is talking about). The other one should be a direct replacement. PTI bought the Associated one to use as a guide for making theirs.

Here are the two parts

TC3/TC4 electric #1703 <--- the one you want

NTC3 (nitro) #1704

Compare the length of the two ends on the spools. See how much longer the #1704 part is? It's made for a 200mm car. The 1703 part is made for a 190mm car.

Thats great i will have to get one.I happened to have striped out the screw that holds the 2 out puts together today tring to get a kinda lock.

Uch! I'm spreading mis-information all over the place! :)

Nah, you just didn't have ALL the information. 8) We still love ya! Haha

On another note... I would suggest getting the PTI one though for two reasons. 1) you KNOW FOR SURE that it's going to fit. 2) it's a little cheaper.
