Just a few minutes ago here at the 2008 Tamiya TCS Finals, the Tamiya crew announced their new Tamiya Thundra. It is a working prototype but they didn't bring the radio. Rubber mirrors, vibrating tail pipes, 3-channel radio required for acceleration/shifting/steering, the flatbed pops up, it is incredibly heavy, and more.

I was so afraid that Tamiya was gonna end the life of the High Lift chassis with the Hilux so the Tundra is a nice addition to the range.

....and keep'em coming!

1bjb wasn't lyin when he commented in the rc4wd section.

Looks like i know what my next build will be.

Also, really like how this one actually sits scale from the factory, the hilux looks silly with the BL.

That body looks sweet! "thumbsup"

Too bad Tamiya hasn't been able to make a chassis that would compliment the incredible "scale" factor of their bodies. IMO the High Lift chassis isn't nearly as capable as it should have been built from the start. The trans is huge and grabs every rock it can. The frame is overkill heavy and puts too much weight high up. Don't get me wrong, I really like my High Lift for what it is and I understand that recycling parts from other kits is the easiest way to make money but hopefully in time they will come out with a more capable platform for us to use.

Man what a great 1st post...newbs theese days I tell ya!

Can't wait till body kits are available :ror:
Looks like I may have to finally build a yota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...(picking jaw up off the floor) Looks like 2.2's will fit without much trouble. Sweet body, and love the detailing8).
