Hello just putting together Kit now

i have arriving tomorrow Hobbywing Combo-XERUN-AXE550-3300KV-FOC-V1.1 motor and esc

would people advise on chaining pinion/spur gear out for a different ration ???

What are you looking to do with your crawler? Is you want good low speed control and technical crawling, I would gear down. If you wanted to get more speed out of it and that's why you did the motor upgrade then I probably leave the stock gearing.

Regardless, I would leave stock gears in it initially and if you find it's not doing what you want once the motor is in, then worry about fixing the problem. You ideally want to know what the motor upgrade does by itself before introducing other changes.

I had a 14 tooth stock pinion (I always thought they were 13 stock so I don't know why mine was 14) But I dropped to an 11 tooth pinion gear and have been really pleased with it, but I didn't change the motor and didn't need the extra top end speed.
