Stupid question?

I've looked everywhere to see if I can find the answer to my question and haven't been able to find anything anywhere. So, the question is, does anyone know if the M1.4 thread screws used on an Axial SCX24 are course thread (0.3 pitch) or fine thread (0.2 pitch)? My mind tells me they should be course thread as it is the most common but I saw something somewhere a while ago talking about fine thread. I think it was comparing the original release SCX24s to new versions and the discussion may not have been on this forum. I just want to be sure as I need to order some additional screws for a project I'm doing. Not a big deal for screwing into plastic but critical to know when screwing into tapped holes in metal parts.

The original SCX24’s had link balls that had a course thread and that a lot of people didn’t notice and tried to screw them into brass knuckles and other after market metal parts. Axial changed that in later models. Can’t help with what pitch they are but I purchased a 280 piece screw kit on Amazon put together by Hobby Park that I am very happy with. Lots of other stuff in the kit other than the 1.4mm screws that come in handy.

I am going to say they are likely .3 thread pitch.

.3 is the coarse and .2 is fine. At that tiny size the normal is usually to use the coarse.

Also, McMaster Carr only sells m1.4 screws in 0.3 pitch.

I tried to use my metric thread pitch gauge but even with reading glasses and a magnifying glass it's too small for me to see. And the finest pitch my gauge goes down to is .25 so even if I could see it I can only confirm if it is or is not a .3 pitch. I will try to find something to help magnify the pitch gauge to screw, but don't hold your breath that I will do any better than before.

I got my screw kit from amazon also but it's Injora. Has about six different cap head lengths in stainless plus locknuts, o-rings, axle pins, and wheel bearings. Dunno what I paid but it's nice to have for my scx24 ( Deadbolt fwiw).

I got a couple Mazz Designs screw sets. They work nicely and fit everywhere I need them to with no rusting which is a serious problem when you live on the coast and crawl in salty water every time.
