I started collecting parts to build a sportsman style crawler and ordered this servo. I then realized that it says its designed to run on a 2 cell lipo. I already ordered a 3s lipo's so will this work?

You will burn it up if you connect it to a 3 cell. Only way is to use a BEC or go to a 2 cell.

If you are going to run 3s, you can up the voltage to the servo to 8v. Just use bypass like JW said above.
