i just got a STRC skid plate and realized the stock screws dont work or anything...if someone has already put an STRC skid plate on theres and has pix...plz post them

I beleive it just takes some longer screws. The links are mounted in the gaps on the inside instead of the outside of the chassis. It will help keep you from getting hung up. I don't have one, but you should be able to pick up some longer M3 screws and mount it up.

yes i know, but the otherside after the gap isnt thread and i thought nuts would look a lil hoaky so i was jw on what ppl have done.

come on noob, long screws and nuts and washers. righty tighty, lefty lucy :lmao:

I run a home-made STRC style skid and i'd say try and get some 30MM long screws, or the longest you can buy since you can cut them to size.

OR you can measure and find the bolt that's longer than what you measure and go that route "thumbsup"

I realize I am a bit late, but for anyone else that happens upon this particular thread; 3x20mm button screws ( Traxxas part #2580) and any 3mm nylock nuts will fit perfect.

You will however need to grind a bit off of the motor mount as the rod end will not properly fit.

I've got one of these things. You shouldn't get flamed for the question - the skid is a bad design and I understand why you would think that just letting a long screw sit there without an inboard locator is wrong - it' s just poor. I have M3 x 20mm in mine - just measured them. If I were you I'd stick it up for sale and buy an EEM one.

I second Dasher I have one on my frogger, by the way just fired it for the first time last night yippee, and the way they milled down the center section to lower the tranny sucks. It makes it very bendable and the motor mount as well as the motor, a tekin 55, hit the rod ends. I had to raise my tranny back up for clearence. A new skid will def be on the way.

When i was using the STRC (which was brief - it is bendy), I used a i.5mm plastic spacer under the motor. This allowed for more clearance - but I stand by my first comment - you can buy a lot better.
