I tried these generic servos from Hong Kong and just had to get rid of them because I thought they sucked. They would not work with my TQ3 at all. I put new batterys in my RX pack and no difference. I pluged them into my race truck reciever (Futaba) and they worked great, no glitch or twitch. I'm still tring to find a cheep good servo. I got a Traxxas 2055 brand new for $10 but it is not strong enough. I don't want digital because I think thats why these Hong Kong units didn't work. I'm running 4WS off a "Y" connector (2 servos off one channel). I don't know if this could be part of the problem but it works fine with the servos I've got they just are not strong enough.

Listen to Jason :) the Hitec 645 is crap. I've also heard good things about JR's.

I don't think I'm with you on this one, I have ran 645's for 6 or 7 month's, and I use up at least 1 3600 pack crawling everyday, they have alway's been kind of on the weak side, but nobody has ever outdone me on any certain obstacle because they have 300 oz servo's. I finally got 40 series moab's about a month and a half ago and just stirpped my first 645 the other day. I won't be buying another 645 for my crawler purely because if I spend the money I am going to buy the JR 300 oz for the 3 year warranty and looking for a little more power. The 645 is about the best servo for the price and is by no mean's crap. I feel pretty good about my hundred's of hour's of use on a $45 servo.

Tq3

OK guys, I need to know what servos every one is using with there Traxxas TQ3 and is any one using a "Y" connector with there TQ3 to run 4WS?

I have found some cheep and some expensive servos on EBay but like I said earlier I cannot get digital servos to work with my TQ3 and 4WS. The problem I am having is finding a high torque servo that is not digital.

I use CB-995's :) they say digi on em.
I have moded my TQ3 to have rear steer as others have, so I don't have a y connector. Unless you want to run a winch and 4ws off of it.
The mode is easy and you really only have to mess with 3 wires.
I and others have posted how they moded their TQ3's for rear steer.

Oh and the CB-995's are only 18.50 plus 4.50 shipping. See the vendor section under SERVO-Introductory offer. :)

EDIT:A link to my TQ3 mode.

These are renamed Tower Pro MG995's I see. I don't do compititions so I don't want to mess with indi-rear steer plus I used my third channel for a rear dig. You don't get any glitching or any thing? The Hong Kong servos I had were to be the same as MG995's and the thing would just freek out on me. Its hard to control a epileptic RC.

so far I haven't had a problem.

and you could use a y for the servos since your using a dig.
read through some of the MG-995 threads and see what you think. I personally won't try to sell you on somthing that you really may not want.

I like the tp's I have 6 of them, never had a problem and they are alot stronger and tougher than the 645's anyday.

I run a hitec digi 5955 with my TQ3. Have you tried an rx pack to power your servos?

Cirrus servo ?

Hey guys, anyone using this servo cirrus super torq cs-80 288mg? I just tried out my tlt and the steering on this sucks. I see alot of people using the mg-995. I just purchased the Spektrun DX3.0 and it has the EPA. It came with there high torque z-590. Will this be good for steering? I believe it is only a 90 degree. should I use a 180 servo and do the adjustment? Help anyone Tired of doing a 20 point turn:x

I have a problem, I have a mg995 servo, I plugged it in to my traxxas receiver and nothing happened, so I hooked the traxxas 2055 back up and no problem, what am I doing wrong.
