Wanting to give a lcg chassis build a go. Debating on a Element V2 kit, Axial builders kit, or possibly a SSD TK kit (better donor parts) as a donor. Has anyone used the SSD TK as a donor for a Gspeed G3 chassis? Asking because the transmission and motor are mounted different compared to the SCX10ii and curious if the TK motor and transmission bolt up or is a fair deal of hacking required? Any and all feedback is much appreciated.

I don’t think I’ve seen this done on a v3 but if you’re comfortable drilling into the rails then anything is possible. You could always sell the transmission to someone doing a C1 build and snag a 2.low or stealth x or something to put in your gspeed as well.

The enduro swaps over to the gspeed pretty easily, I have a thread on here a little while back that gets into the details of my experience with an element kit and gspeed v3. Made for a great rig.

Thanks Topher. I'm probably gonna go with the new Element Builders’s kit then. Not a big fan of the axle design and wish the pinion shaft was angled up a bit for clearance, but I’ll live with it. Like the overdrive setup in the Element tranny, and better shocks than the SCX10ii builders kit. Thanks again.

Hmm, got me curious about that SSD TK in a v3 chassis or a v1c1 chassis lol. Man i need a 2nd job just to fund some of the projects i wanna build.

With the popularity of the Gspeed chassis kits and the SSD TK kit there has to be someone who gave it a go. Lol.

Tim from trdadventures on youtube said he had a v1c1 using the ssd tk kit. Still makes me wanna try it out with a v3 chassis lol
