I have a SCX10 ii Frankenstein. It is all aluminum (which is NOT my preference but the price was perfect). I went with TRX4 shocks but I need to figure out springs. Since it is heavy I assume that I need higher spring rate springs. Looking at 0.061s, anybody tried this on a heavier rig? Oh, and this is a mild crawler, mainly a trail truck.

I don't have an SCX10 II but I recently swapped out springs on one of my fairly heavy TRX4's from .54 front/ .61 rear/ 30wt oil to .39 springs and 20wt oil ( all four shocks) because the suspension just felt too stiff and bouncy and often less stable with the higher-rate springs and 30wt. Now it soaks up the terrain more smoothly and efficiently. I still run .61 rate springs and 70wt oil in my other TRX4 but it's super heavy and set up to tow a heavy trailer.

Like ferp420 sed, what is the current look/ride height with body on/etc? You may be able to crank the preload to raise ride height enough.

It is still in build. It will have an LC20 hard body. Currently sitting on a set of 100 mm internal spring shocks that cause it to set way to high. Cheap knock off shocks. Waiting for the TRC4 shocks to come in. I guess I will buy the .30s and the .61s and see which work best.
