snow and rc cars?

OK just making sure, I have it sitting in the tub sitting up letting it drain and it caked up under the body pretty good.

Just remember liquids and electronics don’t mix. I don’t care how well waterproof things are, it still happens. At least knock off the snow and take a big breath or two and blow off the esc and servo before putting it in the car in the way home.

You asled about batteries earlier, you will be fine with them charged ready to go. You will cycle through them quick enough not for them to self discharge. I think HPD was leading to running them in series or parallel mixing different batteries and voltages or ???.

Edit: Stinking auto correct

WD40 helps. but for snow just some warm air/water, spray all the bearings down with WD40. If you're confident the axles and tranny are dry no need to take apart but its good to set them on the side so any water may drain out. If you're in snow, you're in winter, so you're running the heat. lol
All that to say I put mine sideways on the register outlet from one of my ducts and let it drain/dry after getting all the major snow off the rig. Them clean it up and WD40. blow it all off and its ready for more.

I'm still new to RC cars and Lipo batteries and not sure what you ae saying I have two batteries and I use one currently, At this moment its sitting at 3.8v store charge.
There was a recent video trending ( reddit I think) about an SCX6 battery fire ( dual lipo) and although my reply was kind of joking, some of the replies from the vid suggested that one of the batteries may have been just about dead or had too low of a discharge rating. Couple other people mentioned possibility of water intrusion or cold temps potentially leading to the failure. Not sure if there was a definitive conclusion in this particular case.

EDIT> Posted on RCC by @OutLore SCX6 LiPo fire video - Reddit

When I came in I checked the cold factor on the battery, it was warmish, let it sit for a bit put it on store 1a charge for 45 minutes. I will fully charge next time I plan on taking it out.

I let the snow melt with the car pointed up with the body off in the tub, I will work on greasing it tomorrow.

My routine especially if I'm running in wet snow is to do a very basic teardown by taking off the body, wheels, and wheel hexes and dry it off with a towel and a brush and shake out any excess snow or water. I think it's especially crucial if running in places with road salt as this accelerate bearing wear and corrode steel screws.

I envy you, here in Southern Ontario our roads are bleached white in the winter from all the salt they throw down. If it's mildly wet, it gets everywhere. When I used to commute by bikes in the winter I would wear through chains and cassettes pretty quickly from salt eating away at moving parts.

Before the run, maybe spray the plastic with a silicone plastuc protectant. Otherwise, Remove battery and body. Rinse in clean tap water if they run salt or decomposed granite to melt ice and snow. I'd stay away from compressed air, but a hairdryer could help melt and dry the truck
