Slide-in Camper Build

A bit of progress to report. I got the shell painted and have applied the trim. Shell is white and trim is silver. Just have to paint the windows and install them.

I have a plan for the red/amber lighting just need to find some materials to finish it up. When I get what I need I will post up how I am doing that as well.

A couple of pics...

I buy my LEDs off of ebaby from a guy in Michigan. His name there is, 1michiganger. I have bought many from him and never had any problems.

My idea for the red/amber lighting is to get a piece of 6mm thick lexan, hopefully square, and put a 5mm led in it. One led will light the entire length of lexan.

Once I find the lexan I will post pics up..."thumbsup"

On the marker lights, I have had a lot of success using colored acrylic jewels (craft stores) cut and sanded down to size. I then use 3mm red and yellow LEDs filed flat and super glued to the back. I use resistors to get the brightness right where they need to be. Inexpensive and effective.
The LEDs I use are the 3mm 1.9V high brightness which can be found on the bay for cheap.

Great build by the way!

Here are some mounted on the back of one of my scale trailer builds.

Nice camper. well documented build thread too. I just got his kit. plan to start on it this weekend.

I've done a few boat hulls & you can put a helluva finish on wood with multiple coats of primer & wet sanding.

Your makin' me want to get going on mine, that's for sure.
