Does a wraith skid plate fit in a rr10 bomber? Trying to mount a standard axial trans.
Thanks.

If you have a 3d printer, I've got a couple designs posted on thingiverse for bomber 3gear skids. One is fully printed. The other uses aluminum side plates. I've also seen a few posts in the past of people who just drilled the mounting holes into the stock skid. I believe the transfer case bolt holes in the stock skid will match up with 2 of the 3gear mount holes. I'll see if I can find that info again.

Looks like nice designs, thanks for drawing the parts. I have a resin printer I might just give this a try.

From what I've seen, resin won't really hold up for a skid plate. You might check craftcloud3d.com if you want to have one printed from stronger material. Prices are pretty reasonable.

Found this as well for an example of drilling the bomber skid to fit the wraith trans.

I just double checked the measurements and it looks like you could actually bolt the wraith skid to the bomber cage, just with 4 screws instead of 6 like the bomber used (or 8 like the wraith). The trailing arms won't really fit right on the wraith skid, but if you wanted to convert the rear to regular links that might be a good option.

Thanks for the info on the wraith skid fitment.
Why do you think the skid printed from resin would not be strong enough? Too brittle?
I know I mentioned I wanted to run a standard 3 gear trans but I really actually wanna run a ax2 trans which has the same bolt patern but wider base and thanks to all the studid angles on the bomber skid it makes it hard to mount the ax2

Yeah, I haven't looked into resin in great detail, but strong was not an attribute I've heard to describe resin prints. Fallen has initially gotten a resin print of a skid I drew for his miller chassis and it shattered when he tried to drill an additional hole in it.

I just did a quick estimate on craftcloud3d.com and it's ~$18 for the fully printed skid in PETG at 80% infill (which is similar to what I've been running for a few years now)

$18 sounds good to me. I guess I gotta download your file then upload it there?
Yep. That estimate was for this one. Axial Bomber skid for Wraith transmission by BRJDesigns

Printing the version with metal sides would be a little less, but would require you to either make, or get send cut send to cut, the side plates.

Either way, download the stl and load it to craftcloud and you can see all the options they offer.
