My friend and I who are both in the Air Force have picked up fabricating together as a kind of side job, selling chassis to a local hobby shop up in Colorado and we have been progressing in our skills as fabricators so we decided to try something a little more intricate. Well, after seeing a bunch of people building Tim Cameron's southern buggy "Showtime" I knew that I had to build one for myself. It is built out of 3/16" carbon steel tube, brazed together with 56% silver solder. Here is how it sits right now. The back end is done and we are working on the "door" pieces right now, how they sit in the photos isn't just right so they will be reworked. I am doing my best with my very limited skills to keep it as scale as possible, but I know it isn't perfect. Let me know what you think!

In the photos it is sitting on my buddy's axles, skid, wheels/tires, and shocks.

What it already has:
-VP Knuckles and C-Hubs
-CAC 2.2 EZ LOCK beadlocks
-2.2 IROK's
-Tekin FXR w/35T motor
-Hitec 7954SH Servo
-Kit Version other pieces

What it will be getting:
-VP axles/links
-Full rear steer set up
-2.2 Proline TSL's
-HH 16T Torquemaster Pro
-HH BRXL Waterproof (maybe)
-Sandblasting and powdercoating

Thanks for checking my build out!

Looks good! I'm not normally a fan of these style frame as they look to chaotic but that looks sweet. :)

Thanks sir! I will definitely agree that these are kind of chaotic with all of the tube involved. So far by my measurement we have about 16ft of tubing with another 5-6 to go. We are doing some more work on it tonight so I will upload pictures of what we accomplish. Cheers

Sorry for the delay in update. We dropped the door tube angle a bit and it looks a lot better now. We also added the gusseting between the two main door tubes, and have the roof mostly finished minus 2 small pieces that are going in tonight. We have a 4 day weekend here so the goal is to have it finished by Monday night.

Definitely a lot more to do, but with each piece it is starting to look more and more like a real rig. Cheers

I can't believe I forgot to post this up. This is the "Finished" product. As you may notice, I am missing a couple pieces in the interior and on the engine cage. I ran out of tube which is a major bummer but I figure I'll get around to complete it soon. This picture was taken a while ago before I took it out and proceded to beat the crap out of it. Right now it's running a HH Cobalt Puller 10T motor on 3S. PERFECT wheel speed and low end control for this thing. The other day I also swapped over to RC4WD Dual Rate 110mm shocks. I'll take another updated photo to show the abuse and new goodies on it.

I love watching videos of the full size one in action, he has some balls when he drives it.
Awesome job on the build too, you should send him a few pics of it.

Yeah, watching Tim Cameron blast up stuff in Showtime is awesome! When I first saw his videos, I knew I had to turn my wraith into it! Thanks for the kind words man!

Good work. After seeing these builds i had to build one too. Mine is a one off but along the same lines. So far it has 18ft of 1/4 and 4ft of 3/16 tube work. Blows me away at how much tube they use.

You guys going to be selling those chassis or are you just building them for yourself ?
