Servo speed question

Secondary question, If I got something like a DX5 and bound all my vehicles to it so I could grab the one radio and whichever vehicle I feel like driving, would they stay bound to the Traxxas TXs as well so I (and friends/family) could also drive more than one at a time? Or would I need to keep rebinding to whichever TX I/they are using?

No. You also change out the reciever so it will no longer be traxxas remote compatible. The act of binding means it is set to work with only one remote.

If you had multiple spektrum remotes you would need to rebind a remote to switch them out.

Also spektrums ability to slow down a servo will not increase its torque in any way.

Edit: just realized most of my comments are... I mixed this thread up with a servo winch thread in my head. Sorry.

Many remotes can slow a servo down. I wouldn't change the servo horn for this purpose. There may be a logic box that can do this that goes in-between the reciever and servo. But I would gust get a new remote.

If the Traxxas has locking diffs the new remote setup may pose some hurdles but can also give you more control options at the same time. I am sure a dx5pro with a 6ch reciever could handle it though.

So if I want all of vehicles on one remote (model memory via the remote) I need a matching receiver in everything I want to operate with that remote. If I want everything drivable simultaneously I need to keep individual RX/TX pairs for each vehicle. Do I have that right?

I might just replace the TX/RX in my TRX6 for something higher quality then if I feel like I need more precise control of the servos. Keep every other vehicle the way it is.

Edit: We'd get right eventually [emoji6]. I'm open to any new information, even if it's a bit off topic.

Correct. And recievers can be expensive. This is why so many people recommend flysky and radiolink remotes. 6ch recievers are like $20. A spektrum or futaba 6ch reciever is about $60

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up, I wanted to make sure.

Price is the primary reason everything is on Traxxas kit right now. I was able to get the transmitters and receivers as a set $80-$100 depending on channel count I needed.

I've considered getting the rugged, or the FlySky GT5 (or whatever it's called) Something moderately priced that I can bind everything to.

You can only have one receiver bound to one vehicle.

AS far as Controllers? I choose the Spextrum DX5 rugged because the local shop sold them and shop owner was able to set it up for me. This was a couple years ago and I just wanted the easy answer. Now I have seen many other radios and out that are SO SO SO much easier to deal with than the DX5 rugged and so much less money I would recommend staying away from the DX5 and looking at some of the others.
