Scx24 gladiator build starts with baseline weight

Just got a replacement battery and charger (older style) from Horizon Hobby as a warranty replacement. First battery wasn't charging and was discharged to 4.0V. I must have left it on overnight and over discharged it.

Any input on which charger I should use? new or old style? Older charger seems to charge at a higher rate:

I use my full size Spektrum charger with an adapter for JST PH2.0 to IC3. Then charge at 0.5amps. Seen a few too many horror stories of the stock chargers to trust it.

I just bought this for my first crawler and I like your approach to modding and am interested to see where you go next. I like the idea of simple, inexpensive or free mods but I’m kind of hung up on suspension and which way to go. Any idea which type is of shock is ideal there are so many different ones it’s overwhelming in the best way?
