Replacement steering servos - size difference

The power servo is 54.5 mm long. Almost identical length. These measurements are total length including mounting tabs.

No mods needed, it drops rite in place of the 2075. I run a powerHD 20kg in mine n it does great!

On the Bronco chassis its an issue to fit some servos, as the mounting plate has holes drilled to exactly match the servo Traxxas uses, and the holes on one side of the mounting plate have metal inserts in them designed just for the Traxxas servo, that dont allow you to mount some other servos flat. Even though my replacement Savox servo was almost exactly the same size as the Traxxas servo, the mounting holes in it didn't match up to the stock drilled holes. I was able to use it anyway by opening up the holes in the Savox with a Dremel tool a little bit, so now they fit over the Traxxas holes.. At least the stock screws have big heads that cover and snug it all down. It works great now, but its annoying that Traxxas makes a great rig like this but with a cheap crap servo that literally stops working after 5 runs.. Then they attempt to make it hard to use any other servo but theirs with shady little things like this. A business tactic many companies use, but not the way it should be in RC

It is NOT a big deal to mount an aftermarket servo in the TRX4! There are NO metal inserts in the stock Traxxas TRX4 servo mount! The LH side mount holes do have a shoulder which centers the servo on the LH side. Mounting an aftermarket servo is not rocket science just requires some very minor trimming and the large head screws still hold the servo in place. Please stop whining.

Hi,

I've just got a defender and a Power HD DW-25LV as backup for the stock servo.

This is my first RC so I'm trying to make sense of everything but the forums and YouTube have been a great help.

I'm pretty sure I can run the new servo without a BEC but not 100% sure.

The instructions state it can run on 4.8v or 6v so I'm thinking it would be fine without one because the stock ESC should put out the 6v easily?

Appreciate any suggestions or info [emoji106]

You should be perfectly fine.

"Torque (4.8V): 21.0kg-cm

Torque (6.0V): 25.0kg-cm

Speed: 0.13sec (4.8V), 0.11s (6.0V)

Operating Voltage: 4.8-6.0V"

Looks like a fast, strong servo!

No its not rocket science to mount a servo, like I said I had the replacement Savoz servo on there in about 3 min after I opened up the holes with a Dremel. You also reiterated what I said about the screws being wide enough to cover everything up, so I hope you can see that I wasn't whining, just saying these things aren't exactly plug and play as might think
