I have a axial jeep falken that needs some TLC. I need some metal steering and suspension links. Are the SCX10 1 and SCX10 2 compatiable?

You might be able to get away with using 10.2 links, although you would need to get a 4-link truss for the axles. Integy has a few for cheap. Here's one in gunmetal grey.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been trying to research and get the proper links. Just hate to buy the wrong item.

go to the hardware store and buy some allthread its about $2
and a stick of break line from the auto parts store about $10
pick up some rod ends at the hobby shop or ebay about$10
making all the links you want priceless

Not looking to Jerry Rig. I will get the right links. Anyway, i have since bought a TRX-4 and the best of all the Traxxas Summit, my favorite RC.

Will probably put this project on hold for now.

Building your own links doesn’t mean Jerry rigging. Well… as long as you’re not Jerry. So don’t be Jerry and turn out some of your own custom links. Built not bought! That’s what this forum is all about.

I still have a set of complete 10-1 axles somewhere in my boxes. I can get you link lengths from them if you decide to go that route.

You might be able to still find 10-1 links somewhere online. 10-2 links are different I believe.

All thread and brake line is how we used to do it before you could actually buy aftermarket links. But now there are some nicer options. Vanquish sells titanium links by length. One pair is ~$11 so you should be able to build a set out for ~$50 if you can figure out what lengths you need and buy some Traxxas rod ends.

I love that Vanquish added these to their catalog. I have two parts bins dedicated to them on my work bench. I try to keep most sizes on hand. I also have a mini tubing bender bolted to said bench so I can clearance the links when I get the lengths dialed.

we still do it that way but i have a stash of stainless and titanium tubing aswell as breakline ive also used solid rod and cut threads in to it pretty easy also

Some of the best links I have had were homemade links. The material slid over rocks and obstacles instead of being soft and gouging the link creating rough spots for future hang ups. And they were cheap, and you could stretch your wheelbase if you wanted. Being an SCX10.1 that seems to be the best option instead of "guessing and ordering the right links that will work" potentially wasting money.

You asked for advice and it was given, then rejected it... So you do you

For a while you could get a set of "husky" SS links w/rods/balls (advertised for various rigs SCX...TRX..YADA.. YADA...) on ebay/aliexpress for abut <$20. Not sure if that's still the case with tariffs and stuff now, but....
