Receiver box purpose...

Sorry for asking a potentially stupid question but what is the purpose of the receiver box? It is in no way waterproof.

I'm currently using it with the lid off to house a new ESC and the receiver.

"Splash resistant" and to keep a bit a dirt out! Get a traxxas receiver box for the rustler/bandit. Ebay deals as low as 1.85 duckets for each one can often be found. " I just bought 8"

It's a valid question IMO. I waterproofed my receiver box with E6000. It's similar to Shoe Goo.

I trust no receiver box to be waterproof.

All I expect from a receiver box is to keep most of the dirt off the receiver and give me a place to hide excess wire. If I really need my truck to get wet, I'm using a waterproof receiver.

Great, thanks for confirming.

The receiver box in my Wraith is sealed up tight and I was surprised when I popped the lid on the Vaterra. Anyway, it's a nice little box for the ESC, RX and associated wiring. It just looked so...serious and heavy duty, then I opened it and thought, oh...it's actually a bath for my receiver!

Thanks again.
