The mods really need to man up and take charge of the flaming and "hazing." It gets out of hand fast. I have done it, but not as often as some, Ive always told them either, Im just messing with them and then I give them the answer they need or I tell them to search because I dont know. Or I refer them to a person that does.

Hire more mods that are on here more, that can take charge, stop and delete hazing as it happens. I admit I didnt like M715 but I never replied to the good bye thread.

Ive reported abuse on me and NOTHING was done. It still went on, as a matter of fact mods posted in it saying things.

I would not mind Wheel Chair as a mod, he seems to be an upstanding guy.

back on topic. i agree with wheelchair. This is a crawler site not a "huhu I just took a dump" site

I like Rikpal, I'm sorry that he chooses not to hang out here anymore. I've been to other sites and find them boring. They have good tech and most of the members are familiar, don't get me wrong I'm not knocking any other sites. Just not exciting enough for me.

Never on any other site have I seen so much lack of moderation.

Our mods work very hard, do they catch everything, no, do I expect them to, no, that is why we have the "report this post" button, so everyone can work as a community to make the site better.

I bet I could go and point out OVER 100 posts that I would be very upset if my kid was reading. Yet it's called a Family site?!!!

I'll bet I could find 10X that many posts that I wouldn't let my daughter read, but I also go let my daughter go to bars either. Some places just aren't for small children.

The whole if your friends with a moderator, you can get away with whatever you want thing is really lame.

It is actually, and many people like that. They like to come here and shoot the breeze with their friends, that's what forums are about.

I have no problem with that. We have never made the star program manditory, it's your choice. We could just as easy make everyone have a star, but we'd rather let people use the site for free.

Go over to naxja.org and find me ONE post you would not want your kid to read. That is a family site. This is not.

NAXJA is a different forum owned by different people, every site on the web is different, that is what makes it great.

With the attitudes of the guys in charge, I doubt anything will ever change.

As always we are open to suggestions and we work hard to make this a great site. Will spammers get on the site and post porn pictures every now and then? yes, will people get upset and say bad words? yes, will there be people that don't get along with each other? yes. But we are always working towards making the site better as a whole.

My personal cell phone number is posted all over on this forum, if you can't find it feel free to pm me or email me for it. I am always open to hearing peoples ideas.

Sad thing is, RCC is proud of its image.

Why wouldn't we be proud of this site? Yes there are some things we are ashamed of, yes there are some things we'd like to change, but yes I am damn proud of this site. Whoops, I just said a cuss word.


Just so everyone know we understand we are shorthanded on mods, we have been working hard for the last few weeks to fix this problem, and you will see several new mods added soon.

This, in addition to the people going on about "what does my money go to" don't understand what is involved in running a website. You are paying a subscription to use features on the site. THAT is what you are paying for, not the content. You can easily browse all the content you want for free.

As far as I'm concerned, they're doing their jobs fairly well. Sure, we could use a mod or 2 more around here, but that's up to them to implement. It is a very difficult thing to chose and train more moderators. People *really* don't understand what it takes. I have to say, Wheelchair, I would probably not want to be on a board that you moderate, based on this thread alone.

You seem like a fairly level headed guy otherwise, but your "think about the children" argument sets off my "batsh!t insane" alarms. That's years of making my living running forums and large websites speaking.

Hey, be glad, I could be a moderator around here. My switches between pedantic postings and hazing would go over real well with the masses. :twisted: Honestly, I would probably delete a crap load of posts rather than haze them.

I know this won't mean much coming from a noob like myself, but I like to think I've been around forums enough to know what I'm talking about..

If you don't like the way the forum is run, leave. Your part of someone elses forum, you don't own part of the forum. No matter how much money you have put towards a star you don't run the place. The owner of the forum runs the place. Would you walk into a bar and start telling the owner how to do things, how to run his establishment?

I like to think of the money I've payed for a star goes towards getting me into all the free giveaways, being able to use a custom title and avatar and helping with the upkeep of the forum....in no way do I think that paying $20 a year gives me the right to run the forums and tell people how to do things and when to do them. I see that money as a helpful tool that the owner can use to keep costs down on running the place.

I've been a mod/admin at a popular photoshop forum for quite a few years now and I'd like to think I've seen it all. I've banned people for being idiots, I've let people stay for being idiots, hell I've even turned a hated member into a mod/admin along side myself...the owner of the forum basically left the forum in my hands for most of my time over there and I ran the forum. I tried to be fair...sometimes I've had a bad day and tired of reading the BS that spews from behind the keyboard and just started deleting accounts. The owner of the forum never questioned my ability and my reasoning behind the things I did, always backed me, and I'm sure this forum is not far off from the same.

The decision is left up to the person/people in charge and the trusted few that are given "the power" are expected to use their best judgement to handle business. I'm sure that if the owner of the site saw things weren't going right he/she could make some changes if they thought it needed to be done.


On a personal note, I like RCC the way it is. As much as I've seen I don't think I've ever saw a mod/admin do anything I disagree with...I think I'll keep this place just the way it is(because I have that option???)...

You can also set sites with "Parental control" just like you can with your TV. If you are affraid of your kids getting on this site to read "Poopie" or read threads about how they may wipe. put a parental lock on it.

It's funny cause I have to unlock my tv for my kids to watch the news for class projects. :shock:

I've also seen things on the disney or cartoon chanels worse than what I've read on this site. (for the most part)

I agree with this point of yours. I have seen and been on the receiving side of a mod that has his "buddies" or "favorite vendor". God forbid you question one of these guys or call one out. You get gutted in threads and get the crappy PM's from a worthless mod.

I see it as the owners right to have an idiot for a mod if they so choose. Would I rather these guys get the red star taken away? Yes, but it is not my place to tell the owners how to run their board.

When I was talking about attitudes of the people running this place, your name was not included. It was NOT a personal dig. I appologize if it came across that way. But you have to agree with me the attitudes of the people in charge are, this is how they like it. (With a few more mods of course)

As for the getting payed to be a mod, It was simply a fact to show the mods arguing with me that it is indeed a job, I don't care how many hours a day you do it.

I have ONLY stated the facts with a few small opinions mixed in.

Agreed, I worry less about what's on this site than I do the news or movie ads on TV. Some of those movie ads scare the crap out of my kids.

Just so you, and everyone else knows, I do take this very seriously. If John and I feel a mod is abusing their power we have no problem handling the situation.
