Buzzz everybody this thread is an off shoot from my HoneyWagon build Thread so I can get some help on my build questions??????

Ok so I am pretty well versed with the TRX4 platform and can work on it no problem take it apart put it back together with little reference!

Now Axial is a completely different story and after fully breaking down my SCX10 iii and printing out the full build manual I started to build back up this modified rig, I noticed the manual sucks and is not very detailed with pics or info but I was getting through it no problem using it mainly as a reference! and as you can see in the photos the left shock away from the chassis right shock closer??

Now while installing the axles last night working on the front axle I installed the links and noticed the axle leans to the left so I took the panhard bar off and started lengthening it and it didn't do much so I started shortening the front upper link and it did not help so I put it back to the stock length.

So my question is what to do to adjust to get that axle nice and centered as im pretty sure the instructions are off on the link lengths so before I start putting it all together I need some help with the panhard bar and link and rods any aftermarket solution as I see INTHEWORKSRC has them but they look straight and don't have that bend??

See pics below... BUZZZZ.......

I must be lost, that’s not an SCX10iii frame or shock towers?
So your cross link length will be off. If I remember, both need to be equal length.

Hey Mike it is scx10 iii frame and the samix mounts I was using before no problem now the round boom racing shock extenders attached to the towers may offset but should be equal on both sides and since the instructions on the panhard link where so vague im starting to think I have to shorten the panhard bar???

My guess is too short, because of the wide stance.
I’m fighting the same issue with my Sherpa frame.
My tie rod was long, drag and panhard seemed short, and I was cocked a bit like yours.

Any expert’s advice ??

Im gonna go down to the shop this afternoon and start checking the links again and messing with the pan hard all the other links from the skid look good and are matching the correct length so we will see! and I also have an extra bent panhard from hardcore rc that I have 2 of for my Gspeed V3 4WS project so ill post that too....

Im close to finishing 2 projects and starting my Gspeed V3 build so I know im gonna hit some roadblocks with that so ill keep you posted!!

also check this RC4WD Steering stabilizer im thinking of ordering it to replace the panhard bar???

Let me know what you think looks like it can fit pretty easy im not sure about the bend on the stock and how a straight bar will work but looks promising?!
BUZZZZZ.....

In that last picture, the left hand (left in the image) link looks bent.

Aloha thanks for the message yes they are samix bent high clearance links and they have the same measurements as the stock links but good eye there unfortunately not the problem but I will put it on my checklist and double check the front links again when I troubleshoot this afternoon! BUZZZZZ.....

Do your measurements for centering at ride height or you'll be chasing it forever.

Aloha tell me more about the ride height specifics??

Do you mean as opposed to mounting the top part of the shocks to the shock towers instead of the round shock extenders im using??

BUZZZZ.....

No I mean you can't measure link lengths without the chassis sitting at ride height in relation to the axles.

It'll be way off once you put it on its own feet with final weight if you do.

Figured it out will post asap this evening Thanks for all the help everyone but at the end of the day had to figure it out on my own that's how it is a lot of times in life but knowing there are crawlers here to help is half the battle.....

It was the panhard mount and I was sure of it as the new Treal axles are just slightly different pulled out the old axle and panhard mount hole is a little farther on the Treal axle than stock so since I don't have a Scale bender Yet I just used heavy gauge pliers and was able to use a Locked up RC panhard bar and bend it to where its pretty close to the stock bend its just a slight bit long maybe a couple mm but it sits well and its level and balanced on both sides....

ok so figured it out and it was the scx10 3 stock panhard bar was too short for the Treal axles and after working on a stainless InTheWorksRC Sherpa panhard bar I was able to bend it to where its almost perfect and we will see how it does on the rocks and then if need bee I will torch it and bend it some more but it looks good and seems to give good clearance so fingers crossed!!

Good job on figuring it out - but looks like it's gone a little too far the other way to me. Under compression it's going to push the axle further that way as well.

I agree just a little bit I will bend it some more after the test run and see!!

question should I face the bend upwards or toward the rear???

Holy hub extensions Bat Man!

They are awesome and strong and it’s not Batman it’s BeeMan... LOL....
