RC4WD 1.9 Custom Aluminum Dually Wheels Review

I have been very excited like most to get my hands on a set of these wheels. After a long wait they are finally here. These wheels are for my Quad Cab Dually build. I have delayed my project in anticipation of these wheels to hit the market. So letsgo try them on.

I received the package from RC4WD. As always they package the wheels very well. Each one provided in there very own bag to prevent damage while in transit.

At first glance you will notice that they provided some additional items that were not listed on there website. Extended length axle stubs. I was very pleased to see these. I figured I would be trying to recess the wheels in some way to get a nut to tighten up on the stub. However with this addition, I will have no need to modify the rear axle.

Here is the included surprise. The extended thread length axle stubs. Looks like RC4WD did some homework!!

I am using TLT axles for my Dually build. They are the narrowest set of axles I could easily find. RC4WD also offers some axles that would also work. These could be used on several different axles on the market today.

I chose to mount the rear wheels first. I used RC4WD’s straight axle kit on the rear of my TLT axle. So I didn’t use the extended axle stubs, but you will see in the photos that the provided axle stubs will work perfectly and provide plenty of thread for the wheel nut to grab onto.

Here is the rear wheels mounted on a regular TLT axle to show spacing while using the standard knuckle assembly. As you can see, there is just the right amount of offset.

This shows my altered rear axle and the amount of room.

In this photo you can see the amount of thread that sticks out with the standard axle stub. Once the RC4WD provided stub is installed there will be plenty of room for the nut to grab.

I chose to use RC4WD Mudslingers for the test shots. They look meaty on these wheels.

The rear wheels fit perfect. No issues at all with these. RC4WD hit a homerun in my book for providing the extended length axle stub. The wheels set perfect on the TLT axle.

The next step is to mount the front wheels. I admit that I was worried about the offset on the front wheels.

I set up the RC4WD front wheel on the TLT axle and also a HPI wheel I had used for mock up on my build. This gives you an idea of the offset.

Once again the RC4WD Mudslingers mounted on the front wheels.

As I said I was worried about the offset on the front wheels. Well these photos speak for themselves. Some guys may like the wheels sticking out. However, I am not that kind of guy. I did send RC4WD an e-mail asking them to cut down the inside about 8mm. This would make this wheel sit about the same place the HPI wheel sits. This is my opinion would be perfect.

I am very happy with the wheels. The front wheel offset can be improved upon a little. The wait for these wheels was well worth it. If RC4WD makes the changes to the front wheels to help them get under the body more, then I would have to give these wheels a 10 out of 10. Overall these make my dually rock! Thanks RC4WD.

I wanted to show you guys what I asked RC4WD to do on the front wheels. This show the difference of the HPI wheels versus the RC4WD dually front wheels.

Like I said above in the previous post. About 8mm would help tuck these wheels under the body. Making them perfect in my opinion.

Those are sweet wheels "thumbsup" if you get mor elift in that I think the wheels sticking out will not looks as drastic. Nice truck "thumbsup"

Im runnin these wheels on my clod build w ax axles and my biggest delema is the axles. Im not a fan of the tlt axles from a looks aspect but they do fit the build well.
