RC4WD 1/18 Gelande II RTR w/Black Rock Body Set Sale

I made some mods to my D90, and plan on doing some more, but it drives well enough I won the last event I ran it in and got an ECX Barrage as a prize, lol...

I kinda like that they're not uber-performers, I think they drive more realistically.

I enjoy mine more that I put a barrage motor in it. The screws for the body are literally the worst thing.

This is on sale today only. Sale price is $179.99 instead of $229.99.

I know the 1/18 Gelande has a bunch of issues. It it even worth it at the sale price?

I think its worth it. They are fun to work on. Once you put a barrage motor in it; its pretty robust.

The only thing I do not like about them is the steering angles. Ive had two sets of axles on mine now (bought another stock set thinking mine were defective) and both "thump" when turned one way too much. Which isnt even at the max turning angle the axles can do. That bothers me.

Mine also has some pretty decent drive train slop. Mine can roll about 1" or more when I stop or reverse.

But those two flaws of mine are not enough for me to not want mine. I just wouldnt pay 229 for one again. But I would do 179.

Hope that helps. They are fun to work on. But they dont mod as easy as the SCX. Thats for sure.

It's the dog bone pins bottoming out in the cups. I modified mine to get full steering angle. Plus I modded the knuckles as well...

Thank you! I’ll have to check my cups to see if I did that. I know I shaved my knuckles. And I’m pretty sure I did the cups too. But I’ll have to recheck. Maybe I didn’t. Thank you for the reminder/advice.
