Hello,

New to the forum, LOTS of questions, I tried to search around and sift through the many pages on Google, but I wasn't able to find any answers.

I feel Like I have a "noob" questions, but maybe not.

My setup:
- Apex Products remote on/off switch (light controller)
- Tekin RX4 ECS
- 3S lipo
- Spektrum DX5 TX
- Spektrum 6 channel RX
- Powershift Vanquish VS4-10 O.E.M light kit.

when I have the lights ON it appears to suck 30-40% of the power away from the truck and it runs very jerky. With the lights off it runs amazing!

its clearly the lights sucking/leaching power from the ESC, is this something that I have set up wrong?

Thanks,
Joe

Something is likely wrong in your wiring, a short or something. That ESC has an 8 amp BEC, and should be more than enough to power anything you have connected to it.

Thank you for the heads up, I am going to remove the light controller and see if that is the issue.

Do you have any recommendations for a controller that I can use from my remote? that one is/was the only one I could find that would on/off.

You are using PowerShift lights and I was going to say why not use their switch but I also see they are currently sold out. :(

They do have this switch but of course you would need to carry the controller around and I don't think you want to do that:

My trick RC has the whole thing.

Okay do you have any Issues with power loss? Mine switches On/Off just fine, but when the lights are on I am loosing 30-40% power to the Motor.

Thanks,
Joe

None whatsoever. I’m also running 4 more halos as rock lights, also switched off the Dragon controller.
In the video I’m lifting the throttle when switching light levels, not sure why I did that. The Dragon controller has two power levels also and different ports.

Do you have the ability to plug the lights directly into the balance port of the battery? I have the PowerShift light set with the rock set all plugged into the balance port with zero issues.

I understand you want to control it with your transmitter but if you can test with the balance port you'll at least know the issue is most likely with the receiver or some other wiring issue which was mentioned previously.
