RC Crawlers Ohana Scale Event

Location is set: Zablan beach park, Nanakuli. Date is tentative for November 1st. There will only be 1 class running. If you guys wanna run a RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG CLASS, that's fine too. Maybe we can do a $5 buy in and divvy up the prize money for 1st, 2nd, 3rd. I will update first post with new details.
Iam out cause my sliders are wielded on ....what. Happen to RUN WhAT U BRUNG CLASS

1. It was never an "OFFICIAL" rule. It was just an idea that I had and ran it by a few guys. That's why it's no where on my original post that you CAN'T run welded-on parts.

2. It clearly states that you "CAN" run a "RUN WHAT U BRUNG" class; IF THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO. I have no problem with that.

In the end, your rig is still legal to run. So it's up to you to come out and HAVE FUN with everyone or decide not to participate. "thumbsup"

I'm down. Ryan P
Only thing is, I don't want to go back to brushed or spend any money or time to make it spec. Everything else qualifies but the motor. I'm running a novak 18.5. I'd like to run with the 1.9 if can, its not like I plan on even placing.

Ryan, there are a few ways to remedy this. First, if your ESC is capable of switching from brushless to brushed. Most Novak brushless ESCs that I've used will allow you to switch from brushless to brushed mode.

If that's not an option, then maybe you could borrow an ESC from one of your friends. I'm sure they wouldn't mind letting you use one for the comp. I might even have a spare that you could use.

Last option is to come down with your rig exactly the way it is and see if the other guys want to run a "RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG" 1.9 class. I'm sure that most of the other participants will bring other rigs with them to play.

All of these options won't cost you a penny and you can still come out and enjoy the event with everyone. My goal for this event is to increase participation and interest in crawler events. I also want all the participants to feel that anyone has a fighting chance to win the event.

Yeah, the esc is capable, but its soldered straight to the motor.. I don't care about doing well in competition, just want to dust it off and play. Thanks for setting it all up!

Handout motor?!?!?

Everybody going be running the same motor so no more any complaints about he get faster motor and so on. If you need help setting up your rig let me know. Overall it's how you setup your rig and drive the course that's gonna determine how you do. You can have the baddest rig but if you don't drive the right lines that'll get you through faster with the least amount of penalties, you'll only end up behind lol
