Alright, here it is. The "OFFICIAL" Scale event thread. I will post RULES and UPDATES in the following weeks. I am planning on doing at least the Spec motor class. I may do another class (1.9 or 2.2). Also planning on having a Scale Body comp. But for now, here are some preliminary details. (Entry fee will be discussed later)
LOCATION: Zablan Beach Park, Nanakuli
DATE: November 1, 2015 (Tentative)
TIME: 9:00 CHECK-IN/TECH INSPECTION
ENTRY FEE: $40 by October 15 ($45 if after October 15 and $50 the day of the event)
Payments can be made through Paypal or I will meet up with you. Most of the entry fee is to cover the cost of the motor. The rest will be to cover prizes.
SPEC MOTOR CLASS
CHASSIS: Must be scale chassis (ladder frame). No tube chassis. No Rock Bouncers. No Comp chassis.
TIRES: Any SCALE looking tire up to 1.9" size. Yes, you can run 1.55" or 1.7" as long as it is SCALE looking. No COMP crawler tires.
WHEELS: Any size wheel you want. Just remember, 1.9" tire is the largest you can run.
MOTOR: Hand-out motor. (HINT: Holmes Hobbies brushed motor)
ESC: Any esc that can handle a brushed motor and the battery you plan on running.
BODY: Must be a SCALE body. Yes, you can run the Honcho cage. You must run at least a cab and rear cage.
BATTERY: 2S LIPO or 7 cell NIMH/Nicd MAX
SCORING:
- All PARTICIPANTS WILL TAKE SCORE FOR EACH OTHER on a random draw basis. All participants will be given a number upon checking in on that morning. We will pull numbers to see who will be your scorekeeper. Coordinate between yourself and your scorekeeper to run the courses.
- Score sheets will be handed out.
- Courses will be TIMED!!! There will be a TIME LIMIT. If you need more than the allotted time, you will accrue penalties.
- Penalties will be added time. Penalties will be given for any assistance (winch, ramps, HOG).
WINCH PENALTY: +1 MIN
RAMP PENALTY: +30 SEC
H.O.G.: +20 SEC
MARKER PENALTY: +3 SEC
- A gate is cleared when the back tire locknut clears the marker. Once a gate is cleared, you may move on to the next gate.
My plan is to do 3 courses with anywhere from 10-20 gates a course. I will have course winners and an Overall winner. Depending on interest we may run another class. Lastly, plan on doing a potluck for the food. Hope everyone is excited and ready!!! "thumbsup"
There will also be 2 SPECIAL BONUS EVENTS that will be announced on that day.
P.S. Please sign up if your interested in participating in the comp and if you'd like to have another class. I need to plan on ordering enough motors for all participants.
