Quicrun Fusion SE Manual Brake?

Hey everyone,

First time posting in years but I've been trying to find a fix for this problem for a while. I have the 'new' Hobbywing Quicrun Fusion SE in my SCXIII Basecamp kit, and I have their programming card to change most of the settings available. What I haven't been able to find anywhere is a setting to turn on 'manual' braking-not sure what to call it but simply hitting reverse on the controller to stop the car instead of immediately reversing the car when reversing the trigger. Their drag brake settings are too quick and harsh so I've been avoiding certain trails to reduce the amount of driveline lash I feel like I'm getting. Should be a simple setting that most ESCs have, but this is new tech for the space so I wonder if there's something I'm missing when changing the settings. Let me know if y'all need more info

I dont have that ESC but looking over the manual I dont see this option anywhere. They may have left it out since this is a crawler specific ESC.

This is sometimes called drive mode or reverse modes. These settings are usually described as 'Crawler reverse' (forward to instant reverse no brake), 'forward to brake to reverse' (forward, brakes then reverse) or 'lockout reverse' (forward to brake with no reverse).

You might try emailing HW to see if there is some way to enable different drive/reverse modes.

I'll also ask the obvious question, why do you need this? Thats a setup for a basher/go fast more than a crawler.

EDIT: Never mind, have you adjusted the drag brake rate? That setting makes the drag brake ease into full drag brake slower or faster, a really handy setting. Between that and the drag brake force you should be able to dail it in.

That's normally setting item #1 on HobbyWing products. You are trying to get it out of crawler mode. Looks like that option is not available on the Fusion SE. Wow.

I agree. My Spektrum brushless system (made by Hobbywing I presume) doesn't have the option to adjust that. It's set in "crawler" mode and that can't change.

What that means is you have to get used to the brake coming on when you release throttle. You can adjust how hard the brakes and how progressively they're applied. But they'll always be on if you're not on the throttle.

If you want to drive your SCX10 III more like a basher, you'll need a basher specific ESC.
