Thanks Guys, and thanks for the feedback on the fairlead mount"thumbsup"
I'll make that change for this next run. What I'm thinking though, is only having the extra mount on the bottom... where the fairlead normally goes. That way it will still look pretty close to original.
If we discuss this further, should we move it to one of the other winch threads, so it doesn't clutter up Chris's nice wiring thread??:mrgreen:
well, I have been playing around with this QS winch for a couple months, and I love it "thumbsup"
I use HeyOK's standard winch controller(6V) with my QS winch now, but I would like to know what is the max. voltage that QS winch can handle with?

I have heard of a few running 4s with a 3-way switch, no controller.

I use 4.7k ohm resistors to replace the pot. These ones came from Radio Shack.
ok i went to the shack and bought 2.2k-Ohm 1/4 watt 5% resistors from a thread a while ago on someones reply....what is the difference from what you used here before i go to work on my servo winch for no creep.........bob

2-More power capability
You could wire 2 2.2K resistors in series to get 4.4K, then do a second set and parallel the first to get 1/2 watt.

i'm thinking bout running my winch servo with my steering servo through a Y harness off my BEC set at 8 volts....so my thought is i need the 4.7k-Ohm resistors then....or is 8 volts to much voltage, i have read that servo's can run on 8 volts........bob

Just a quick update. I have broke my 100lb and 130lb winch line multiple times and found some 150lb Tuf-line XP in green. We'll see how it holds up. I can still fit 30 feet on the spool.
Still running it off 12.5 volts with the TZI winch controller.

Awesome Review Grizz!! I'm super excited to finally get mine..first time ever building a entire crawler around a winch!!
Just a quick update. I have broke my 100lb and 130lb winch line multiple times and found some 150lb Tuf-line XP in green. We'll see how it holds up. I can still fit 30 feet on the spool.
Still running it off 12.5 volts with the TZI winch controller.
i picked up some braided stainless line from mcmaster that doesnt have the wire memory most have, rated to like 250lbs or something. it will coil up a little if you spool it all out and aint careful, but its very soft and supple compared to other steel lines ive tried.
i can look up the part number tonight if you or anyone else is interested.

If you can find the part number, post it up. It's nice to have options. I personally prefer fishing line like this, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I have no idea. I prefer to use a winch controller on all my winches, I just think its more reliable that way. Electrical/mechanical issues piss me off.
