Yep...same thing here...ran my new Brood 35t on 4S at Falls Park the first trip out and had to replace the brushes after that trip. I think it has a little to do with what fine grit might be in the water too...but the water definitely speeds up the wear...it didn't really hurt the comm the same way though so that was good.

You've got that right! I need to find an antenna straw to keep it above the water...2.4 just doesn't like water! I'll avoid mud all day long simply because I don't want to clean it up afterwards...but the water...well I just can't stay out of it!

I pray we can get a TTC going, then I hope y'all participate. In your 1.9s. :flipoff:

I haven't run my 2.2 setup but I can't see it being less fun. Climb bigger rocks, wade deeper water and sling more mud. Yeah sounds like its gonna suck.

Nate

Dirt grabbers will embarrass all of yall
:lmao:

I got a fix for the play in the mud then play in the water its clean again lol

Well that might work...but the mud has already done some damage...I'm thinking motors, brushes, bearings, CV shafts, gears, etc. etc. etc.

for the most part, my experience with mud damage on the motor has been from the tires slinging it under the body. with my hilux having a back wall and my brushes on the motor facing towards the rear of the rig i dont get that much mud into the motor now. i will still be investing in a proline xj under carriage that i will mod to fit the yota cab to cut down on mud from the front wheels. unfortunetly there is no way to seal the brushed motor to prevent water damage to the brushes but a spare 35t with deans will get me by in that case.

Need to get a new pic but this has been my project lately when I get time along with my stampede bashers:
