i wanted a truck that can crawl and have good speed not too fast but like 30 mph. i have a e-maxx soon to be modded with goods. would locking the spools and going 30 mph be wise or would it affect anything

You will have a basher. It is not possible to have suspension that allows great articulation, and great handling at speed.

With spools and speed, you will probably twist the maxx shafts a lot if you get it on concrete. It would make it more capable off road though.

30mph is pretty fast for a part-time crawler. Like johnrobholmes said, it's kind of an either-or thing.

Right now in my TLT i have at P2K motor in it, with a pede tranny. It does good in the rocks and has some pep in it. However my 45 or 55 t will be comign soon. But for bashing Id say something like that works good.

For scale bashing, I was having fun with a 15t stock Associated motor. It didn't go all that fast, but it was a scaleish speed. When I'd crawl, I'd just toss in the 55t.

you just cant mix the two, your better off with a truck that can do one thing awsome than two things bad.

I agree fully. Its is just like a bike. You can be fast on the road and poor offroad, or great on the trail and slow on the concrete. Mix the two and you have a hybrid that sucks at both- but has a comfy seat

That is why I have a bike for both! I also have a RC car for bashing, and a few dedicated for crawling. I gave up the basher/crawler all-in-one fight a while back.

yea i mostly will use it for bashing, it's just that i like the articulation and ground clearance also the look. but i still would like that power to rip through things like mud. also would spools be good just to get for when i climb like curb sized rocks
