Okay, I fell pray to the cheap price and ordered one off Amazon while they had it in stock. The green was sold out, so I got a red one. First impressions were not the best... Probably would have been better if I had got this first, before the SCX24.

First off, the steering was way, way off and would barely go to the right. I fixed it a little with the trim, just to run it, but ultimately had to loosen the servo to get access to the servo horn screw, remove the horn and re-center it.

The second thing that bothered me was the weird pause between forward and reverse. This was more my fault for not reading the instructions. There is a jumper plug that needs to be installed to have instant access to reverse. The plug was super loose fitting, so a little dab of E6000 will fix that.

The third and probably most annoying issue, although it is pretty realistic :lmao:, when turning, it binds up pretty bad and the truck jerks a lot. I believe the dogbones are binding in the cup on the hub. Not sure a fix for that one yet. The SCX24 does this as well, but it is much less pronounced.

Fourth small issue, the throttle control is a bit lack luster, no real slow, low speed torque available and If I can figure out how to fix it, I'll post back.

The fifth issue is not a big one, especially at the price point of the truck. The tires are pretty hard and stiff.

Now, on the positive side, the body looks great, it has oil filed shocks, plenty of speed (probably a little too much), 700mha battery (x2 "thumbsup") and options for lighting.

Once I got the steering fixed, set the steering end point and adjusted the body posts, she is fun to drive and the kids will have a blast. I really like the size of this one, it's just a little step up from the SCX24.

Things to think about that will make it much more capable:
Gearing for more torque
Better tires
Softer springs for the shocks

All in all, for $110, it is a fun little rig, just don't expect the same slow speed control of the SCX24.

Happy Wheeling!!!

Curious about parts comparability. do you think the shocks would fit the SCX24?
