Been looking for the tires for the Origin when it gets here.
For the most part its the last items I need to decide on and get on order. Most of the stuff will be here over the next few days and first few days of next week, beside tires, and the Kit itself.

So what are/would you choose?
I want to stay with the stock 1.9 wheels that comes with the kit, I want to keep it scale, and I'll mostly be trail running and maybe a lil rock in here n there.
Would also like to keep it scale looking so a branded wheel (no amazon please unless its a brand) that is scale. and no taller than 4.75. Prefer to stay a bit shorter even perhaps.

So drop your suggestions and if you have a foam suggestion that works for the tire you suggest, leave that too please.

Already spent too damn much on RC this year. and the month isn't quite over yet. smdh.
But I can't wait for this stuff to arrive and start the build.

If you don't care about a licensed tire, I'd say whatever you like the looks of best.

I'm liking the jconcepts rock block (mickey Thompson Baja Boss). I've also got proline treps that look great but are a little bigger than you want.

Ya, Treps are a bit tall. I have a set of PL MT Baja Pro Xs here and they are at the top of the height I think.

I have a set of 1.9 holds on my Optic with 2.2 tanks and I'm going to be switching those out.
They seem to be a decent tire, especially as atm I have 3/4 inches of snow and 3 + more expected in the morning.

But have a set of PL TOYO Open Country in my cart atm. But I've not heard much on these tires as far as how well they do.
Not going to be doing much ROCK Crawling but I will crawl some rocks. lol

Origin, like the Optic will be more Trail Runner orientation.

For the replacement tires on the Optic, wanting to keep a lower profile tire, I have a set of RC4WD MT Baja MTz that ware 2.2 wheel and 4.75 height. But also looking at their MTZs that are 2.2 wheel but 4.19 overall height.

Super swampers?
Can't beat Super Swampers for scale and performance.

I think you have to consider the vehicle. It's not a street-legal trail rig like a Jeep or Land Rover. It is an all-out tube-framed buggy to tackle tougher terrain than the stockish vehicles. Because of that, I think the Toyo tires would look out of place.

You also can't beat the look and performance of Tusks.

I do think Proline KM3, BFG Krawlers, or Azteks would look great. The often forgot about Flat Iron XL tires would look great too. I just feel you need tires with some aggression on the Origin.

I do have the flat irons in a side note, along with the Krawler.
I think I may buy the 2.2s for the Optic and put the holds on the Origin for the moment.

More I think about it the more I agree on the Toyos. I think something more aggressive is called for. heh

As I perused Amain last night, It seems I fell more onto the RC4WD MT tires, which in the past have been pretty good all things considered with RC4WD.
Though the Irons and Krawler would also look great on those old school slots. So Perhaps I should go ahead and pick up one of those options also. I can always get a different 1.9 for the Holds.

I've not given the SS a big consideration, mostly due to figuring that's what many will land on.
The Tusks are pretty nice for sure. I have some Ruptures and these Holds both great tires. Not really considered the Tusks so I'll give them a better look.

The biggest diff on the BFGs and the KM3s is 4.75 and 4.19 on the KM3s... Shorter wheel may give a better look, but trailing in Mi very often involves tree roots etc. lol so the height of the BFGs would likely be more doable along with the Flat Irons being 4.76.

Went over to RPP and looked there also. Ended up settling on the same tires for the Optic I have in my cart at Amain already.
CI foams or Crazy Crawler foams? Right now I have a few pair of CI 5.5 DD foams In the cart. are the CC foams better or way different?

Now the question is do I just put The Holds on the Origin Wheels or go with something else. Luckily there is time for that decision.

For the Optic I landed on the RC4WD MT. These will fit the 2.2 Tanks way better and still give me the tire height I'm after for our area.
