So me and my friends were out driving and we found a huge jump with a giant tranny to land on. First time I took it I threw a huge whip and landed it perfectly so I told my friend to get his phone out and film me taking the jump again. Well, the second time it didn't go so well.

If it's not clear in the gif, it landed directly on the front wheels and pushed them apart with enough force that it ripped the steering rack in two.

ah, the dreaded yeti nose down jump. not a new weak spot, the stock steering rack is weak.

Yeah I just put the VP steering g rack and double sheer on last weekend. Wow what a difference. Well worth the money spent.

I already have the STRC posts to get rid of most of the slop but I will be replacing the piece with an extra stock piece since it's plenty strong for normal use. Unless someone has a better option for under $15

If you're really wanting a stock replacement, I probably have one I can send you. Let me double-check tonight and if I do still have it, it's yours. "thumbsup" If you're going to spend money on the Yeti....spend money on stuff worth buying. Either the VP rack or the STRC rack. I'm sure the HR rack is good, too, being CF, but I'd rather aluminum up there for such instances as the one you just showed.

My friend got the STRC rack and has his plastic one that he's going to give me, but thanks for the offer! I don't have a lot of money to dump on it so I'm saving what I have in case of a major breakage (I'm waiting for the ring gears to go at the moment). I'm only upgrading things that need to be upgraded, like the caster blocks and knuckles.

Yup....my rear ring & pinion went a couple weeks ago, so I'm down until I get replacements. May as well go for the HD set since I have to replace them anyway. Won't have too much left to beef up in the rear axle after that other than stronger axle shafts and bearing carriers.
