Looking to buy first crawler. Not going to do comps but do want something that's pretty capable. Have considered the wraith but curious if you have to throw a lot of money at it to make it capable. Also looking at a nightcrawler. Don't mind buying new but also wondered if buying used would be ok what should I look for in a used rig. Tried to post this earlier so if it post twice sorry. Hit me with the opinions.

I never owned a wraith or a night crawler, but I would stay with axial products that's my opinion. If I were to buy used I would buy a used truck on here because you know they were taken care of. You cant see the classifieds yet because you don't have more than 30 posts. You can see the classifieds by buying a star or getting your 30 posts.

Thanks for the tips. I probably will go with a wraith. I found one locally that has some upgrades for $200. Looks pretty clean. I do kinda want to wait till I can see the classifieds on here though.

Welcome to the sickness"thumbsup" I've noticed that most stock rigs work pretty well.Driving style will determine what if any mods are needed. As with any hobby some expense should be expected. You should try some comps not so much for the points but just having FUN,plus giving a chance to see others rigs for ideas.See you on the trail8)

Really depends on what you want to do. If you want to just crawl the Nightcrawler is a great rtr crawler, if you want a trail rig that you can customize more and be scale go for a SCX10 and if you want a bigger truck and dont care a whole lot about making it a custom scale truck go for the Wraith. These are all good trucks and i have found them all to be reliable and capable trucks. Another option is the Summit, its a bit pricey, but it is a one of a kind truck and much different than a Axial or Nightcrawler. Like i said just depends on what you want to do with a truck.

I think the wraith will probably suit my needs fairly well. I have a full size rock buggy and the places we ride would be great for the rc stuff. Some of the obstacles would be pretty gnarly for an rc crawler. I know some of the comp rigs could probably make it too easy so I think the wraith may be the best for making it a challenge. But from what I'm seeing ya'll think a $200 wraith is a pretty good deal huh? It's the rtr but he swapped the esc, servo, driveshafts, and a few other things to upgraded components.

Well I went ahead and got the wraith. Needs a couple of minor issues fixed but overall pretty nice. Time to see what I can tear up.

Ok, MANDATORY next move.....

Get a free photobucket account so you can post pictures on the forums so we all can enjoy your new wraith!

After that, sit back and smile; you're a wraith owner!!!!!!!
