New scx10 kit

Your so lucky your fiance likes the hobby. My girlfriend would love to see my trucks burn lol

Same boat man same boat....

Oh ya. When it was just my short course she would love to see it be destroyed. NOW however, she's HOOKED. Wait till I post pics of the back yard at moms house...tons of rocks and STUFF to create. Still can't believe I got my 68 year old mom into this...haha

My warden uh cough cough wife likes the go fast way better. Just got tired of spendng the $$$ anytime I had a good wreck on 3 or 4s lipos. Now she says the crawlers are boring climbing the same stuff over and over again...Time for scale run/ hike now that the weathers getting warm...

Nope. No heavy mods. Winch and lights will be about it. Good for trailing is enough for me.

RIGHT man. just wait. Who hasnt said that before! lol give it time, the onlything stock will be the frame. "thumbsup" enough hijacking your thread!

Ya it is a great paint scheme. Problem is I don't want to copy her so I've not a clue what I'll paint mine. UPDATE...my moms crawler is running and she couldn't be happier. Still need to trim and paint the body but she's already crawling over an old laptop and her wii fit board for "training""thumbsup"

Forgot to mention. Fiancé did some crawling around moms backyard last we were down and they're getting ideas for the course. Looks like my summer will be filled with "yard work"...HA
I'll be starting a separate thread for the course project, and update with photos as it progresses. I am a LUCKY man.

Next question. We are wiring up the WARN winch from rc4wd. Do I use the main battery or should I use a secondary for power?

Got my rig about done. Just have to put in receiver, esc and servo. Spent a lot of time figuring out where to place the battery and receiver box and this is what I found works best and cleanest for me after seeing MANY ideas here in the forums

Course is fully around the backyard now with a couple bridges. Not very scale yet but drivable. Working on more scale suspension-type bridges and some fencing. Then we'll get to work on some alternate lines. Have a couple built in by accident but their kinda boring drive arounds.....ha. I put some pics up in the scale course thread. Mom drives it nearly every day, and my fiancé couldn't be happier with her rubi. They both have been bitten by the scale rc bug HARD. Fiancé has made us all some tow straps, and is making plans to wire in lights. We'll be doing a lot of hiking/scaling this summer.

Your lucky they jumped in with you. I asked my wife & she said she had to go for a girly exam. My only hope is my 3 year old daughter. I give her a dead controller so she thinks she's driving and I drive and coach her. She has a ball.

should I be more concerned that I just spent $40 on tiny sh!t for our scale course? Or the fact I'm genuinely ok with doing it?....lol

For now, it's simply zip tied to the crossbar for the old swing out tire carrier. BUT, I'm going to drill a bit of a hole through that and use the mounting bolt . Just need to rotate it up a bit so you can get that angle. I thought it looked way better, and it has the added benefit of getting the tire up out of the way so when I come down off stuff it doesn't get hung up. I was going for a Baja racer look. Thought it worked out pretty well

So , I've got about 50-75 runs on my truck now, and still not a single thing has broken. Yes, I drive a 35t motor so it's slower than what I see on here so breakage will be at a minimum comparatively. But I'm looking to have a bit more wheel speed. What motor should I be looking at? Brushed only, running 2s packs. I get about an hour and a half run time right now without hitting the LVC so I'd like to still get and hour plus if possible. Any suggestions? Running the tekin FXR esc/35t motor combo now. Don't want to jump all the way to 20t but just want a bit more balls down the road.EDIT...using 4000mah packs by the way.

Jump into 3s buddy. The fxr is rated for it, wheel speed is great. I like the little 2100 mah packs, lighter weight and plenty of punch
