How I got it 10 or more years ago:

What it currently looks like:

Specs and build pics to come.

Back when sellers were still parting out whole rtr and kits, parts were cheap. Sometimes two different seller would sell axle parts, and between them you could build a complete axle for less than 20 or a set for 50 bucks. Those were the days. Well this is a build that uses some vintage HPI wheely king axles. I had scored a couple of sets of the MIP cvd axles that were offered for a while, and those are installed. So the tires were originally going to be the set pictured however only the wheels stayed.
I then made these link mounts

and brazed them onto a piece of "too thin" metal.

Dont judge my brazing skills

Streched a wendigo chassis to where I thought it would be a decent fit.

Gave it a bit more width too.

Matched up the wheelbase with the eyeballs

Then i made some links and did my bestest to keep them parallel to another, and jazz

Pinion angles set

Interior sort of fit

Propped up a temp suspension with the interior

Body on

However I'm not a fan of my suspension design. Too much Carolina Squat.

I will more than likely run the truck in droop, and do a little bit of work to the wheel wells.
I had initially thought of using a HPI venture front transmission and a losi LCC transmission as a selectable fwd/4wd/rwd t-case like this:

However, since im having the suspension issues, this will be a mild off road rig and only get a standard scx10 transmission of some sort. I already need to give it a new floor, so I may just cut into the interior to make a transmission fit. Then just cover that cut out part with a 3D printed dog, or accessory.

This will be the tow rig for this boat or a seadoo.

Both watercraft are new bright and came as "floaters" and will receive hobby grade electronics.
Builds for them and their trailers will be sometime in the future.

Man that's a cool body with interior even. Looking to see what you end up doing to the suspension and transmission.

Love it!

Here's the suspension on my 1/6 F150... works pretty decent. Not scale of course, but it feels great. I'm kinda stuck on the project, not really sure what/where to put the transmission either. I'll have to hack out the interior a bit, and that sucks. Exact match to my 1:10 interior!

3 gear trans it must be. My suspension design is crap because it interferes with the driveshafts. However I was able to figure out something for the front. These cheap ebay shocks that have about half an inch of compression.

The rear however proved to be a problem. The bed sat at ride height it sat on the framerails.

The front looks better

Bought one of the leaf spring conversion kits for the mashigan just to play with. Theyre a bit thicker than the tamiya springs, or the ebay knock offs.

They only jad one for the front available. That, however, seems to have worked out, as the frame rail profile is nearly the same.

Plenty long, and it came with all the hardware.

Oh, and anyone wanting to do a belt conversion to their scx10 II trans

12/60 "tooth" count. Unsure of belt lenght yet.

If i have too many issues with the wheely king axle for the leaf conversion, i have thought of using an og scx10 axle or a equal lenght ar60 axle.
