Does anyone here run BK servos? I see a brand new high-torque servo on Amain from BK and it looks like a beast, but I don't know much about BK. I run mostly Savox, which I find to be reliable but noisy.

Here's the specs on the new BK:

Specifications:
Operation Voltage: 6V – 8.4V
Weight: 68g (2.4 Oz)
Dimensions: 20x40x37mm
Frequency: 1520us/333hz
Gear Type: Steel
Motor Type: Coreless
Torque:
6.0V: 33 kg/cm (458 oz/in)
7.4V: 37.5 kg/cm (520.5 oz/in)
8.4V: 40.8 kg/cm (566.3 oz/in)
Speed:
6.0V: 0.15 sec/60
7.4V: 0.11 sec/60
8.4V: 0.10 sec/60

That's a lot of torque, but also a lot of price for an unknown (to me) brand.

BK servos started off in the RC Heli scene and they are very reputable servos in that segment of the hobby. Also the owner of BK Servo Bert Kammerer is a very active advocate of the hobby as well.

X2, for that money and scant listed specs, give me a Hitec HS-7950TH for not much more money. Do the gear shafts run on bushings in the case or directly on the aluminum? Got a pic with the lid off? What are the gears made of (all the gears)?

Edit; Kbzx, didn't recognize the brand at all, but do know who Bert Kammerer is. Need the info requested to know if this servo is worth trying though.

Yeah good questions Natedog. I do not know any of the answers! If I pick one up to check it out I'll take it apart and post pics. Not sure I'm going to yet though.

I'm thinking about grabbing one if I do I'll take a pic with the top off.

EDIT: Went with MKS DS1220 instead.

For a little lesser torque and half the cost I'll stick with my Savox 1230. The rebuild kits are only $25, so even if I do ever strip a gear I'm still in the good.

Well I am getting this servo now. Amain had a inventory error so went back to this servo. OH well should be better all around.

Thanks, worth a 1000 words :ror: 8)"thumbsup"

Oooo nice! Topless shots

Looks like a rather thin main gear, and by the looks of that top case, no hard metal inserts where the gear pins key into.... i forsee stripped gears or lots of slop in your future.

X2

If you can even get them to make them. Been on BO since December.

"thumbsup"
