New Associated Enduro Crawler - Free-Mods & Upgrades

I got metal pivot balls for the link ends and shocks. Rocky says the stock plastic pivots are pretty durable, so I'll run them for awhile.
Friday I plan to do some real crawling with it.

All good mods - keep them coming!

We should do a day at Corona Del Mar - it's almost famous. LOL
I've been telling Chris they need to come up. We can host a bbq lunch.
You can park in front of the house overnight if you need to, even a couple of days. Not much camping around here otherwise.

October 26 is the RC4WD scale event at Lake Kawae up near Fresno. Were you planning to attend that? We all have tickets and campers. May even come up a couple of days early and bring the boat - it's a nice lake.

BTW, we are planning to visit Medford/RRV the week after labor day holiday. Scope the place out.

I probably can't do Friday as I gotta work. I'm hoping I can head out early tomorrow though.

Was at Ultimate today. I can't believe that they still have 1 Enduro on their shelves! When they ordered mine, they ordered 2, and that's the one still on the shelf. I'm pretty surprised that no one has snatched it up!

Been selling like hot cakes here in SD... nobody has them on shelves and pre orders for other batches are quickly getting snatched up. I think AE has a hit on thier hands!

And yes Ernie and Marcia SoCal trip!
I will save the dates!

Went out to CDM this morning. Broke my Passenger mirror off. It was inevitable I suppose. Had to run with the bed, because the parts I need for a rear cage aren't here yet.

Axial Cherokee JCR bumper turned out to be a very "minor" improvement. Better than stock, but still gets in the way in some spots.

I really like the stock tires and wheels, but they don't work as well as I want. The tires might be ok, but the plastic wheels are just too light. The truck really does need a little more weight in the front to keep it planted and let the tires grab so that the overdrive can be put to good use.

Mid-run I swapped to generic aluminum beadlocks + Proline BFG Krawler G8's with dual stage foams and the truck started to do better. It gave it a little more weight at the wheels and a bit more bite from the tires. I want to try running a set of BFG Krawlers with CI DW single stage foams like I do with the TSL XLs on my BOM.

Weighted knuckles can't come soon enough. Hopefully someone is working on them?

I think ssd mentioned something.

I also have a quick wheel swap in mind, just to try.
And your broken mirror is a good excuse to get the satin chrome exterior parts! Maybe.

Yeah, took a wheel apart but didn't try the SSD heavy hubs...should try that. I think they are slw compatible as well.
My TRX has ssd steelies with weights on the rear, the front has ssd heavy knuckles. It crawls very well. I'll swap the wheels out and see how they work on the Enduro.
It definitely needs some front weight at least.

Soze - you went to 11% overdrive? What do you think about how it works?

Yes SSD brass and rotor hubs fit the Enduro wheels.

Brass knuckles and other parts are already in progress...

I could give you a better answer if the front axles were being put to the ground! LOL

Nice. Could have sworn I heard (saw?) him say that before somewhere else. Good to get confirmation.

Wertymade front bumper, tight and tucked. Still looking for a replacement for the rear.

I’ve been under the impression that a lot of Axial & AR44 (sans axle housings, ring & pinion) based hop-ups are usable on the Enduro. Has anyone done a confirmation of what is & isnt?

Nice. That one is called the hogger, right? Is it fairlead compatable?
Since this rig has a spot for a servo winch I'm having a hard time finding bumpers with a fairlead WITHOUT a winch mounting deck.

Looks great though!

Wertymade Boar. It's almost perfect for me. I would've liked to have it be the same width as the body to protect the body.

Yeah somebody mentioned new scalerfab stuff for the enduro. I went to the site and the prerunner with the options I want is almost $70. Yeesh! Gotta pay to play huh?
Another reason I want to keep tje stock bumper for as long as possible lol I'm cheap!!!

*hey get to sleep! Early day for you at cdm!!!

I have been doing some checking:

- AR44 C hubs are too loose on the Enduro axle case. This is very disappointing!

- AR44 axle link mounts do not fit.

~ AR44 knckles fit (just about) but not BTA steering then.

+ bumpers fit

+ Front axle universal shafts fit
