Need some advice on a 3 gear setup!

I’ve done a bunch of searching but haven’t came up with much so maybe you guys can help me out! I’m looking for some opinions of what works well for the fellas who have done it!

What trans do you guys prefer to run? I’m leaning towards
A ax10 setup but I’m not super knowledgeable on them. I’ve seen a few people use wraith setups as well.. I’m leaning towards printed skid to mount it up.

I’m trying to get my Capra geared down where it should be. I’m not a huge fan of how tall geared the trans is.

I appreciate any advise i can get!

I am running the Spare Time Hobbies skid and a Vanquish 3-gear trans since I had one laying around. Any 3-gear trans will work.

You can also drill new holes in the skid if you don't want to get a new one. That's what I did on a truck I pieced together. I'm running an Enduro trans and SCX10ii axles in that one.

I was looking at the spare time setup... you have any issue or complaints out of it? I’m pretty hard on my little rig so it needs to be tough

It works like you would expect it to. The website says that you may have to remove the interior tray, but I didn't. I imagine that and Enduro transmission may cause issues with the interior since it is taller than an Axial trans.

I have the enduro in mine. You will not be able to use the stock interior. The trans is too tall. I tried a couple other interiors but have yet to come up with anything that I want. I think maybe with a heat gun I may get the stock one to work. I love the gear options with this transmission. I don't know what my final is but it will crawl. I am running a brushless 3800 sensored motor on 3s so I also get the speed if needed. Very happy so far. I have run this setup for almost a year. "thumbsup"

I have an Alcista conversion, but am currently in the process of fitting a three gear trans in it.

I have a DLux Fab Ham Berger transmission waiting for install. I am awaiting a Vader transmission adapter for the stock skid, and an In The Works flat skid coming drilled for three gear transmissions.

Whichever fits/works best is what I'll run with. I'll add a comment when I get everything together.

OK, done with the update. Went with the InTheWorks flat skid and DLux Fab Ham Berger transmission.

The Vader trans adapter hits one of the mounts for the dig or two speed (can't remember which, removed the servos a while ago) and didn't feel like cutting it off.

Also installed the InTheWorks front tray which relocates the servo so I can put my battery on the front axle. Here's a pic.

So it’s possible to drill new holes in the existing Capra skid to mount something like a vanquish 3 gear? I have a hot racing skid in the Capra now and a spare Treal one I haven’t used.
