Need Advice on Shocks

ha ha ha ha lol top heavy ha ha ba lol hahahaba
ok sorry its a cool rig i love me some tonka convertions
you seriosly need sway bars theres no way your gona not be top heavy but you can atleast make it drivable
i would mount them front and rear on that rig then i would add asmuch waight to those axles as posable if you can get potmetal axle housings

these are for the enduro but there the right width might take a bit of tinkering to get them mounted up but well worth the effort https://www.ebay.com/itm/1244282172...QdsP-LyQl6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

you can also make your own if you have some spring steel wire hanging around

You have an absolute mountain of sprung weight. Whatever shock rate you have on there, you need... much, much stiffer. If you have four scales, you can use a lil' bit of arithmetic and find out exactly what rates you need. Oil weight will also have to rise accordingly.

I have no idea what that body weighs, so I can't even speculate on how stiff the springs need to be. Stiffer than most anything I own, I'm pretty sure.

Thread with all the spring rates I could find: The Crawler Spring Compendium

i think i would try running full.drop no springs at all and some 50wt oil it would kinda bandaid the problem but its damb cheap and easy
just take the springs off maybe a small.peice of fuel tubing around the bottom of the shock shaft to get ride hight and a bit of give for when you do hit a big bump hard this will lower your center of gravity and give your rig a solid feel when driving it
you can always put the springs back in if you dont like it
then if you still feel you need more stabulity add sway bars

STIFFER SPRINGS AND WAY THICKER SHOCK OIL! That's a lot of weight on really soft suspension set up.

A swaybar or both front and rear swaybars would help as well. But your biggest problem.is way too soft of springs/too thin oil. That's one nice thing about threaded coil overs too, you can tighten the side That's dropping in the lean to help offset the torque lean if needed.
