hi, not sure if this is gonna interest anyone but since i came across this website almost 2 years ago i have been wanting to build a 1.5 scale rig. i know i wanted it to be a hard body but i didn't want a toyota or another one of the tamiya had bodies. dont get me wrong i think they're awesome but i just wanted something else. a couple months ago my girlfriend surprised me with this

so now that i have the body ill get this build started. its gonna be a slow build because im working almost 60 hours a week but i guess i shouldn't complain.

also sorry about the picture quality but all i have is my phone to take pictures
anyway i charged the battery on the truck, drove it for 5 minutes, then started taking it appart

They are a piece of $hit aint they:lmao:
Good for the body though, I got 2 of the magenta Jeep 4 doors here and do not really know what to do with them.
Heck I guess I might put them on the for sale section

Been searching for one of those bodies for a while now. But what's funny is that all the crappy RCs always have the best looking bodies.

its gonna be scx10 based because i got a good deal on a chassis and axles and i have a few other parts laying around. the wheelbase is almost exactly as the dingo, im using the plastic links that come in a rtr as mock up but ill be making my own links, also ill be putting it on 1.5's but right now those are the only spare tires i have.

The Rastar is the good one. Where did your girlfriend find it?

Wes

on the weekends she works at a flea market and theres a few stands that sell toys and cheap rc cars and helicopters. she knows almost everyone there so they give her discounts sometimes. she gets me free socks too

so i started making some of the links today. i think the green break line looks kinda cool. im gonna 3 link the front and 4 link the rear axle, thats the way i have it in my other truck and i think it works great.

also i want to keep most of the interior so i had to figure out another way to mount the rear shocks. the shock hoops are too tall and would have to go thru the interior to mound it flat on the chassis. see pics:

and with some minor trimming of the interior i think it came out pretty good

im holding it down because i still need to play around with the suspension to get the right height.
and i ordered some wheels and tires finally, they should be here in a couple days :)

really nice!
thanks!

What is the lenght and width of those trucks?
the lenght is 19inches long, 7.5 inches wide and 7.9 inches tall "thumbsup" hope this helps.

Hell yea! Nice!
lol thank you.

im waiting on a few things to arrive but in the meantime i got the interior to fit. i was gonna use a transfer case but i figured id save myself $70 and just hide the transmission under the center console and the front seats:ror: now im thinking of a way to attach everything to the chassis. im thinking of brazing something to the chassis and using the original body mounts to hold it in place with some screws. we'll see how it turns out....
