After a few experiments that didn't really yield lasting results (including the pile of rocks and concrete in my backyard ), I think i've got a workable system for building lightweight, modular course sections.

It uses hardboard-and-foam panels as a base, then it's layers of various foams layered together and coated with a latex paint-and-sand mixture..

I had started this under a different thread, but now that the process is more streamlined, I am just going to use this spot as a "video diary" of the progress..

First vid is of the side-hilling, off-camber sections built:

Next is a multi-level set-up:

nice man! just moved into my new house today and that has brought me some inspiration to get an indoor course on the go!

Well I got enough stuff built to do a 6-gate, 8' X 6' course...Gonna try and get enough together to do a garage-size mobile set-up; something that can be easily loaded into a pick-up, transported, and quickly set up and torn down....

Here's some pics and vid..

Pete, you are really on to something with your setup. I can't hardly wait for my set, we need to get together again soon. To all who will read this, he has an inexpensive, functional and light weight portable setup that just plain works.
