too many words to post all in the first post so here is the rest of my collection
My Rc10 team car stealth tranny, BBs
I just picked this Rc10T up recently, added BBs, Losi shocks, radio and ESC, some new (old) front tires and a beater body I had lying around, ill get it a new body eventually.
An original “gold tub” Rc10 that I picked up its never been run wanted it to look a little different so an hpi Baja bug body and some aluminum rims went on it.
My wife got me this RC18T for Christmas 2004 its box stock except for the larger rubber, I will put a different body on it soon raised up in more of a monster fashion.
A Tamiya TA02 chassis widened with the longer arms/dog bones, BBs, some Kyosho rims and Pro-line rubber. This is a fun Basher as the body will attest to.
This is a weird one, what to do with two extra Losi gear boxes, make an aluminum chassis and add a freaky theme body for a 6x4x2 (that’s six wheels by 4 wheel drive by 2 wheel steer)
My son is 4 and has a Spider-man Tyco R/c that works well in the basement but when he’s ready to play outside with Dad this is his RC10. stock motor,Esc,BBs and a tough reliable ride. Even put pics of him in the drivers seat.
MRC Thunder king
EVX with twin Titan motors, Two batteries onboard, dual steering servos, Tamiya Terra crusher tires, and an Associated MGT body, the thing is HUGE!
Tamiya TLT-1 chopped the chassis, locked the center diff, changed the links and shocks around, added BBs, and a full size battery pack and it’s a great little rig.
This started out as a Schumacher Topcat buggy which was a great car super fast and quiet with its belt drive transmission its only flaw was its lack of support stateside, parts had to be ordered from the manufacturer and they were stock parts very few aftermarket parts were made for it, after years of racing it as a buggy I broke and was unable to get a new front arm (originally it had lay down front shocks and a cam system much like a Revo) I had to replace the entire front end with that of a Schumacher Cougar same car but they changed the front end to a more conventional less complicated upright shock system. It just wasn’t the same so I did the Baja truck thing to it which I think looks pretty good, trinity rims with Kyosho 1\9 scale Bridgestones and the McCallister trophy truck body.
This Beast is the result of my first attempt at a tube frame, its made of brass rod(not tube) has 4link suspension, clod axles, TTR adapters to run the Imex Kongs, HPI Savage aluminum shocks, BBs, a sealed radio/battery box, full driver and cockpit with working sound effects.
My more or less stock TXT-1
4 wheel steer, BBs, aluminum skid plate and cantilevers.
Another classic the Kyosho Turbo Ultima, although it looks nothing like it originally did it now has a graphite chassis, BB steering, the Kyosho optional overdrive gear set, associated narrow 2.2 truck rims and tires up front, kyosho 2.2s in the rear, and a Dahms “Toyminator” body.
I bought a box of parts from a guy that was to build a Kyosho USA-1, it had tons of extra parts so with the addition of some spare shocks and tires, I had, I was able to build two, later I picked up some sassy chassis goodies and swapped out the stock plastic chassis,
The first USA-1 now has a fiberglass chassis, aluminum, sassy chassis steering, some custom track rods, anodized shock towers, Imex tires, aluminum shocks, and a suburban body painted up in the orginal USA-1 Theme.
USA-1 #2 (does that make sense?) has a very tough aluminum Sassy chassis, aluminum sassy steering custom aluminum rollcage, Hpi savage shocks, BBeaty custom upper link relocators, Thorp diffs and dog bones, giant trac tires on nitro USA-1 rims mated to Thorp aluminum Hubs.
The Willys boys
The white on is a totally restored stock Wid Willys 1
The Cayman Blue one is a stock Wild Willys 2
And the Red one is a modified WW2, with 2.2 claw dawg tires on King Blackfoot rims, all three run stock motors and full BBs.
And lastly is my Yokomo YZ-10 back in the day this 4wd buggy was the ****! Belt drive, graphite chassis, BBs, aluminum shocks, it now also has aftermarket rims, and a Tamiya VW Touareg body.
opps i missed one
My Bruiser Basher, I wanted a bruiser to run that I didn’t have to worry about breaking the axles, and that handled some bigger bumps I had most of the parts anyway. body, and chassis from a Bruiser,
Axles, and shocks from a TLT-1, Juggernaut transmission and Traxxas drive lines, Imex 2.2 All-t tires on Kyosho rims, aluminum 4links and some other custom aluminum parts. Originally I was going to run the stock Tamiya 3 speed tranny and 750 motor but it was really heavy, and limited my drive shafts quite a bit. When it came to finishing this truck two items were missing the “glass” for the cab and the grille. No problem some lexan sheet cut just so makes a nice tough replacement windshield etc. as for the grille a $40 reproduction or a more expensive vintage piece seemed crazy so I hit the part box and found a big brute grille I had, cut it apart, widened it and made an air dam from lexan, some paint and its perfect now my 1980 Hilux sports a 1986 SR5 grille.
